Our new article @dtd_tromso@cans_uit led by PhD student @Alex_Sof_Sousa is available online on @JMaterChem !
In this paper, @Alex_Sof_Sousa stabilises DNA micelles with polymyxin B to study penetration/activity in biofilms. Thank you to all our collaborators and funders.
Our new article is out!😀
We show how DNA micelles stabilized with polymyxin B can self-assemble spontaneously, penetrate P. aeruginosa biofilms and have ANTIBACTERIAL effect.
A biocompatible approach with possible applications for skin wound treatment! https://t.co/W53uDukGcY
Thanks to Drs @sybuobi & @NatasaBasnet for hosting me to give a talk & serve as an opponent alongside Dr. Thomas Rades at PhD defense of newly minted Dr. de Sousa. Great discussions & potential collaborations - Inspired by kindness of everyone @UiTNorgesarktis in beautiful Tromsø
Please read. Great review on mitochondria targeted nanoparticles and brain disorders. @UWConline @SOPHUWC @StellenboschUni https://t.co/SDXcEo1GTu
Many thanks to all authors involved and reviewers for their input in this work! Through this contribution, our group establishes control over populations of synthetic peptide assemblies in cells with visible light. #OpenAccess

So proud of @Jalal_UiT, my first PhD candidate who is now Dr. Uddin after defending his PhD today with flying colors. Thanks to @josebengoechea and @prothiwa for their opposition as well as to co-supervisors @MonaSusanJohan1, @microbioquester and @Paal_Johnsen. @CANS_UiT.
Nice collaborating with Prof. Wohland from @NUS_DBS on Alexandra’s project over the summer. We are grateful for the mobility funding she received and the support from Dept of Pharmacy @UiTNorgesarktis@dtd_tromso . Looking forward to more future explorations 😊
One of the perks of research is the ability to do it with other institutions. For this, a big thank you to @NUS_DBS for providing me with the opportunity to dive into the sophisticated microscopy techniques you make seem so effortless, and @UiTNorgesarktis for supporting it! 😊
You spend 6 months planning and writing a grant.
You wait for 9 months to get reviewers’s comments to respond to (if you are lucky).
Another 3 months to hear that your application is not successful. You continue to read.
“What happens next?
You do not need to do anything else.
We have let your research organisation know about this decision.
Thank you for taking the time to submit an application for this Opportunity.”
You are left not knowing what to do next. Is it the project? Is it the reviewing process? Is it there is no money to do research?
