.@bfhermann My daughter, a surgical resident, spent 5 days in ICU after a suicide attempt. Our experience was published in @NEJM in Feb 2023 “Looking After Our Own”
Physician suicide rate is twice the general population. My conclusion is our culture is partly to blame.

Or they could just reduce the cost for all applicants. No medical student should be paying thousands of dollars to apply for a job. The majority of us live on loans it’s honestly shameful the cost of applications.

My parents were visiting and they went to lunch while I was working and met a couple with a newborn. After talking to each other, they recognized my parents last name and realized I was the #obgyn intern who delivered their baby just days before!
