What does conflict look like? Opposition, unmet needs, tense emotions— but also curiosity and opportunity.
Thanks to everyone who shared their ideas with me at #SDinGov 2022, still marveling at the creativity and energy you all brought!
@vickytnz@vickytnz THANK you for these amazing notes!! to elaborate— the CBT (therapy) was an important service offered by DC gov, just not the right one to randomize. The trash can signs were perfect for randomization (which allowed us to learn they didn’t actually reduce litter!)
Thanks to all who spent time with me at #SDinGov today thinking about randomization in service design (and thanks for capturing this @vickytnz)! I’ll be back tomorrow to speak about conflict navigation and some mindsets we can borrow from the human-centered design toolkit ⚙️

Racism is a public health crisis. I stand with my friends, colleagues and students #BlackLivesMatter As a mother, I stand with all the mothers who have lost a child to police violence and racism. I cannot know your pain.
Here’s a useful summary of the current best thinking among public health experts on how we need to approach the fight against COVID-19 in the coming weeks. https://t.co/7cy71sKLVG
Protect yourself and your community from coronavirus with common sense precautions: wash your hands, stay home when sick and listen to the @CDCgov and local health authorities. Save the masks for health care workers. Let’s stay calm, listen to the experts, and follow the science.
