2 / The following three images show an aerial comparison of the same area in Los Angeles between 1956, 1960, and 2020. I organized these images to show how racism is surgically embedded in our legal structures and then applied onto black, brown, and poor communities.
Over 16k Americans weighed in on the click-to-cancel rule, overwhelmingly supporting our effort to end subscription traps.
The rule was set to go into effect in May but this @FTC slow-walked it—and now a court has tossed it out, claiming industry didn’t get enough of a say.
Anyone frustrated by how difficult firms make it to cancel subscriptions can tell the @FTC commissioners to re-issue the rule and urge members of Congress to make it law.
@the_transit_guy these are some of the best years, embrace them. don't let anyone tell you different. you will experience loss, but knowledge of self only becomes more pronounced and powerful. also, don't suppress your inner-child in the name of growth.

With Luna holding a commanding 20% lead and the number of ballots yet to be counted shrinking by the day, Villanueva conceded the race Tuesday.

One of the most important projects in Los Angeles history is near completion. I'm so happy for LA. The projects that will be completed this decade aim to reconnect LA in ways that it was connected prior to the 1940s, when it was the most expansive metro system in the world.
September 2022 status report for LA Metro’s Regional Connector. 98% complete as of 9/30/22, +0% since 8/31/22. Still targeting opening on 2/4/23, but milestones dates were moved to later dates (comparing September report’s estimated key milestone dates to August report).
Too many stories like this. If traffic engineers cared about safety they would understand the impact that right-on-red has on pedestrian safety and driving patterns.

You have no place in public service and you are a disgrace to your communities. Your racism has created a huge setback in public trust for the City of LA.
