@JeriTsaiNets I think it's fairly simple. The Nets ideally want no max contracts heading into the summer of 2028. If they do, it will be for a star young-ish player acquired via trade or 2027 FA.
The timeline starts in 2028 when the picks really start to convey and this batch of youth matures
