@SteveKooner@SheldonStarrett Here’s the think Steve. You take this man off the street and there are ten more willing to fight for his enterprise. This is how prohibition works.
@SheldonStarrett@MattIlich I’m not going to claim that you should have to put up with these kinds of things but you reduce these activities with safe needle programs, consumption sites reduce needles in neighbourhoods and they reduce public consumption. Something you’re actively fighting against.
@SheldonStarrett@quickben9 You’re pretending like drugs haven’t been in China town since the 70’s. There has been a boiling pot of overdose in the dtes well before insite.
When insite was closed briefly the neighbours begged for it to come back just like how neighbours are begging in parts of Ontario now
@SteveKooner If you want to stand behind introducing a respectful and all encompassed drug education for kids I will gladly champion this cause with you.
@SteveKooner I don’t know what mixed message you think is being said here. No one has ever said that drugs are safe or a good idea. All we’ve ever said is that people do drugs regardless of knowing how harmful it can be. I think it’s irresponsible to limit the education to “drugs are bad
@SteveKooner We however need to respect kiss autonomy and realize that they are going to drugs even if they are taught just say no. The dare program from my understanding does not include measures to protect kids past “just say no”
@SteveKooner Kids need a well detailed education on what these drugs are and how dangerous they can be. More important they need tools to remain safe if they decide to do these drugs. They need to know that even with life saving preventitive measure these drugs aren’t safe.
@SteveKooner This guy patting himself on the back while it was school trustee Debbie tablotney and a group of trustees in maple ridge that put forward a motion for a comprehensive education plan on drugs.
No one is telling kids drugs are a good idea.
