@DrLukeCraddock But surgery has penalised you for time out post F2 for ages. I think that it increases burn out. You don’t have the option to take a yr and do something less hectic like a ctf job because every yr is lost pts. The system is broken, but what they’re suggesting isn’t the answer imo

@IvanaDGreco I just want you to know- this is not unobtainable. It is routine in the UK that well baby visits are done at home by home visitors and midwives in the early days. I believe the first one requiring people to go in is the 6 week check here

@MWadzeckKraus My mum colluded with the parents of other children around the same age as me that I knew to make our tooth fairy notes (written in different teeny tiny writing) have a consistent story. They had names, friendships, specific jobs, they covered certain days for one another etc

@gayguycandleco In the UK between July and October of 2022 our 70 year reigning monarch died and we went through three prime ministers. Honestly as a doctor- we just gave up asking- we weren’t sure ourselves half the time!

@ShaunLintern Reduce the distances involved in compulsory rotational training for jr doctors. It is likely contributing as much if not more than pay to issues with retention. You do not need to be sent un-commutable distances away and change jobs every 4-12months to become a good consultant.

@muddy_gas_doc When I was in A&E as an FY2 in 2022 I walked onto a 10-6 shift (main handover at 8am) & was told I was the first SHO in, two consultants and two nurse pracs as the only other team in until 2pm, 4 hour wait for triage and 10 hour wait to see the doctor. On a Tuesday. In a MTC.

In fact if you’re not meant to be on an on call shift you actually lose more money than you actually would have earnt that day- so actually the nhs is saving thousands from each strike day!

@drquinngyn In addition to your points making no sense to anyone working in healthcare, the patient released photos and shared her story herself. As you can see in this article there are multiple pictures of her in ITU from different angles and stages in admission

@theAliceRoberts I think a key Q is what type of school it is. My other half works in a catholic school, where parents choose to send their kids knowing teaching will be Christian centric. Equally if it’s a secular school but similar talks from all faiths are occurring to me it’s less of an issue
