The NYPD joins @Chicago_Police in mourning Police Officer John Bartholomew, who was shot and killed in the line of duty on Saturday. Our thoughts go out to those who knew and worked with him.
All New Yorkers should be outraged! A life was taken, a family was shattered, and today justice feels like it fell short. The decision to find Jonathan Diller’s killer not guilty on Murder 1 charges sends a painful message.
Two years ago today, our @NYPDQueensSouth Community Response Team brother, P.O. Jonathan Diller, was shot and killed while confronting a dangerous individual carrying a loaded firearm. Officer Diller left behind a wife and young son. His heroic example is a reminder of what cops risk losing every time they put on their uniform and shield. Officers stand united with the Diller family as Jonathan’s killer is tried for murder. May P.O. Diller continue to rest in peace. #FidelisAdMortem
Join me in mourning the loss of Cpl Timothy O'Connor, PA State Police, who was killed during a traffic stop. Please pray for his family and department. End of Watch 3/8/26 Rest easy, brother.
On this day in 1988, our @NYPD103Pct brother, P.O. Edward Byrne, was ambushed and assassinated by members of a vicious drug gang while he was guarding a witness in a drug case. P.O. Byrne’s murder galvanized New Yorkers to take back their streets from violent criminals and drug traffickers. May his memory serve as a shining example of heroic police service. We will continue honoring his ultimate sacrifice by fighting to keep his killers behind bars. #FidelisAdMortem

On this day four years ago, our @NYPD32Pct brother, P.O. Wilbert Mora, made the ultimate sacrifice from wounds he sustained four days earlier when he and his partner, P.O. Jason Rivera, were ambushed and fatally shot while responding to a domestic incident. In life and in death, Officer Mora dedicated himself to those in need. Protector, organ donor and hero: P.O.
