For reference, not a fan of any manager whose “style” is limited to a single formation. Adaptability is crucial in the modern game, and a certain Portuguese manager is very much lacking in that skill
Good to see we’ve come full circle, I remember being told we’d be building a whole new wing in the hospital for him at the time I suggested he be our RW over Sancho…
Drivers support Max Verstappen and disagree with the stewards penalty:
Charles Leclerc🗣"Looking at the images, I think we had a very similar situation back in 2022, where I was squeezing Max a bit on the outside and he had to go on the curb, so I think it was avoidable from both sides."
Yuki Tsnoda🗣"Tbh, it wasn’t that obvious the move under the braking. I mean it was pretty normal. I’ve seen much worse than that. It's part of racing."
Daniel Ricciardo🗣"You look at it....like it’s hard, but you’re also fighting for a win. So yeah, you’re not going to just wave someone by. What I saw at least, nothing seemed over the top. Was it pushing the edge? Probably. But was anything dangerous or reckless, at least from what I’ve seen? No."
Alex Albon🗣"It’s aggressive racing, but I think it’s blown out of proportion. But yeah, definitely more you guys the media enjoying it than I think the reality of it was just pure racing, hard racing."
Nico Hulkenberg🗣"No, it was racing for me. So, I felt it was all biffed up quite a bit and dramatic, and for me, it was just racing. Tbh, for me Max wasn’t doing much. He was more or less driving a straight line. We have to leave a car with, which I think there was and there was still a curb on the left and not a wall."
@johnnyherbertf1@HillF1 I hope you read this and learn from it. As Alexander Wurz and Peter Windsor said before, it was just racing and definitely not worth a penalty. And now the drivers themselves are confirming this including Lando.
Big fan of this trade for Atlanta. A lot of people wanted Ingram, I like that we didn't take him as I see that working the same as DJM. Clear plan with the Hawks now: long, defensively versatile wings to surround Trae, giving him the keys to the offence.
The Pelicans are trading a 2025 first-round (via the Lakers) and a least-favorable Milwaukee/Pelicans 2027 first-round pick, Larry Nance Jr., and more, for Murray, sources tell ESPN.
A trade netting Walker Kessler as the backup big solves one issue there. The shooting is probably going to have to be tested at the start of the year, if Jalen, Okungwu, Kobe and Risacher all shoot over 35% from 3, it's passable along with Bogi and Trae shooting 39% +
Afternoon update from @DraftExpress and @JeremyWoo: “With hours left until Round 1 of tonight's draft, all signs point to Risacher in Atlanta, with rival teams selecting behind the Hawks saying their intel indicates he'll be the choice.” https://t.co/R3TI8HwSJn
Pickford, TAA, Stones, Guehi, Shaw, Rice, Mainoo, Watkins, Bellingham, Palmer, Kane should be the lineup for the rest of the EUROs. If they were available, Rashford and Maguire easily make this side significantly better but otherwise that's the best we have
None of these England players want to move. Doesn't matter how good you are if you don't move you can't score. It's so basic and yet guarantee you we'll see the same shit 2nd half
"Full time statistician"
Yet you don't know the numbers on the Margin of Error for this system. It's not definitive. The sport isn't binary like you want it to be.
The offside rule is by definition binary
You’re onside until you’re offside
This is not a negative with the tech. Do not mistake VAR for Laws
If your problem is with the rule, don’t blame VAR or other tech
There’s literally no downside to semi-auto Offside tech
@DerSarrismo I saw the idea once presented, not sure on specifics but I kind of liked it:
Create an artificial 1 on 1 between the fouled player and the goalkeeper. Test it, as long as the average conversion rate is below say 40%, I'd be happy with that
Another opinion here:
Penalties are way out of proportion to the crime. You trip a player just inside the box who was probably going backwards anyway and they now have a 0.76xG chance? It will never happen but I would like to see a bit of change to the rules there
