M.A. in Nat Sec, Floridian, Latino American 🇧🇷, just here for the bad IR takes, will probably contribute a few of my own, @strategicchancla.bsky.social
USAID derangement is so incredible because for years the fringe left insisted it was an imperialist tool to elect right-wingers and now the far-right insists it was a globalist tool to elect leftists.
Every Republican in every red state is convinced that their state is run by a secret cabal of democrats who are the source of all wrong and that they must reelect the incumbent republicans to get rid of that cabal, which they did not do in their previous term
Hasan Piker the last 5 years:
-Claimed Russia had a right to annex territory
-Called the Kerch bridge strike "terrorism"
-Called journalists in Ukraine "war perverts"
-Broadcast the dox of a journalist in Ukraine
-Demanded aid to Ukraine be stopped
-Said Ukraine must surrender
He fully accepts the bullshit Russian imperialist framing of the conflict where Ukraine has no right to attempt to protect themselves with collective security
Nothing more than a red painted fascist
Tucker interviews Max Blumenthal, editor-in-chief of the Grayzone, a far-left disinformation blog best known for pro-Assad conspiracy theories, Uyghur genocide denial, and pro-Russia propaganda.
Horseshoe complete.
Make no mistake about this. Anyone arguing for NATO to be disbanded in the moment that we have been in for the last 5 years wants Russia to win this war.
To military leaders among us: show us.
Show us how you’ve turned the personal torment of your earthly life into an operational art that can drive terror into the hearts of your enemies.
Show us, without telling us, that you were held back in some way in life. And now it’s made you a wildcat in the offense. Where your commander literally has to put a shock collar on you before you advance too far. But everything in your path is laid to waste when he lets it go.
Show us, without telling us, that you were exposed at some point in life. You stuck your neck out too far, and it cost you. And now it’s made you a lion in the defense. Enemies many times your size can’t break the impenetrable tactical fun house you’ve created for them.
Show us, without telling us, that you were burned for being too boisterous and open at some point in life. And now it’s made you a master of infiltration. Getting into the enemy’s support zone and they never realize it until it’s too late.
Show us, without telling us, that you were punished for not being imposing enough. Ridiculed for weakness perhaps. And now your initial shaping operations are loaded with shock, awe, and enough precision to get the job done in an unmistakable way. The enemy knows your name based on the way you execute preparatory fires.
Show us the pain of your life through the silence of your submarines, the flash of your cannons, the roar of your tanks, the glint of your bayonets, the scream of your jets, and the ominous hum of your drones
But most importantly, show us all that this journey you’ve taken in life has taught you to mitigate risk, not be crippled by it.
Junior leaders should be able to do the basics. But senior leaders should have more. True maestros in a symphony of destruction.
The U.S. military has avoided battlefield creativity for too long. All in an attempt to reduce everyone to mechanical pieces. This is not the way.
The way is pain, torment, suffering, redemption, and weaponization of it all.
Or are there too few of these types left? In a system that rewards personal perfection, is there enough pain and imperfection left in the formation to make a genius? Time will tell. And that right soon.
But to the leaders and politicians who keep asking, “What problem are we trying to solve by testing officers before they become generals and admirals?”
I have a better question:
What exactly are you afraid we might discover?
The problem is that for years, people have treated Trump's words as a buffet, picking and choosing which parts of them they want to believe and which parts they think are puffery. And with "mass deportation," IMHO most people heard "deport the criminals" and ignored the rest.
Am I A Now a Criminal? I’m in the Binyamin region of Samaria at the Shilo Winery, enjoying their wine. As an Israeli Brit, tell me, does drinking wine in the Jewish heartland make me a criminal?!
This stunt captures the lack of self-awareness defining much of hasbara. As Fleur films herself sipping wine from a settlement in an act of protest, many Palestinians face unreliable access to water. In an attempt to generate sympathy, you’ve created a let them eat cake moment.
as much as i shittalk Hasan and his ilk, it is mostly because he provides cover to the subhuman filth representing the GOP
the Trump admin began their illegal war in Iran by vaporizing a hundred schoolgirls and are drone striking random fishing boats for fun as we speak
Hasan's response to the reports that he called America worse than Al-Qaeda is to launder a bunch of decade-old verifiably-false Assadist talking points. Incredible stuff. The hole digs itself.
“The US is worse than Al Qaeda bc we caused more deaths” is a bad take, but at least it establishes a defensible, sort of utilitarian, standard: The people that cause the most deaths are the worst people.
But you can’t hold that standard and also be pro-Mao, on net. That doesn’t make any sense.
