@Idaean If you aren't married, then he should pay a minimal rent which includes payment for expenses. If you told he is contributing to the mortgage then... likely unable to resolve. Expenses would include the weekly groceries, gas, electricity, Internet.

@usuallypregnant So the wife set an expectation to her friends without letting the husband know, ended up putting the husband on the spot and therefore embarrassed herself in front of her friends. Wife's fault.

Today I met my course teacher. Turns out she also practices Tai Chi, and the other student dropped out. Ended up being just me, we had much in common and chatted about connection, energy, tai chi, and much more.
Perhaps it all happens for a reason...
