I've had to delay patient care for female patients when no chaperone was available to accompany me during intimate examinations. On occasion, the patient would offer to waive the chaperone requirement and can't understand when i decline. Aunty the chaperone is for my protection not yours.
Lord Jeffrey Archer is dead at 86.
The British novelist, politician and master of the twist died yesterday. He had one of the most commercially successful literary careers of the modern era.
But Archer’s life had an intriguing Nigerian chapter.
It involved money, power, corruption, Switzerland and a lawsuit.

How I go trust total stranger make em go test run AMG 63 alone in this present day and economy,na so baba say instead my security guy to join that I should join instead so we can go to his hotel where he will do transfer for me I told my security guy to collect key from him.

The sooner you people understand that being President is not Arewa’s birthright, the better for the unity of this country.
President Buhari, a northerner, spent 8 years in power, and you never demanded that he be replaced.
Now, just 4 years into President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s presidency, you want another northerner to take over.
It’s not happening. The South must complete its full 8 years.
That’s the agreement.
NTA Newsline with Abike Dabiri.
Abike Dabiri-Erewa was at NTA for 15 years.
She started at NTA Channel 7 Lagos as reporter and news anchor, then moved to the NTA Network Service.
She became famous as the anchor of NTA Newsline which aired every Sunday at 9pm. Newsline was not the normal news, it was investigative and public interest. She used it to focus on poverty, social justice, human rights and corruption, giving voice to ordinary Nigerians.
That programme made her one of the most watched faces on Nigerian TV in the 90s.
She retired from NTA in 2003 to contest for House of Representatives where she represented Ikorodu.
After NTA she became a three term lawmaker and later Chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission NiDCOM.
Thank you, Mr President @officialABAT. Of the many projects in Taraba State, this one is especially close to my heart. Whenever they chase me out of Abuja, at least I can enjoy a smooth drive back to my ranch. 😅
Every government since 1961 promised to build this important road for us, but none delivered. Today, in just over two years, we can drive smoothly on this road and across the Taraba River safely. Hundreds of lives were lost here because of the difficult terrain, particularly during the rainy season, when boat mishaps were tragically common.

I had a great time on Masoyinbo, exploring the importance of Yoruba in our society and why we must preserve the language, celebrate our culture and pass our rich heritage on to future generations.
Yoruba is more than a language. It is part of our identity, history, values and what connects us as a community. While our diversity is one of our greatest strengths, preserving our indigenous languages is a responsibility we all share.
Building a greater Lagos means investing not only in infrastructure and public services but also in our people, culture and values. We must work together to keep our heritage alive for generations to come.
Masoyinbo is doing a wonderful job of preserving our heritage while keeping us informed and entertained, whether in Lagos or anywhere else in the world.

‘God Save Me’.
That was the graffiti (pictured below) imprinted on a car by an unknown African migrant held hostage at a trafficking house in Ghut Shaal, Janzur, in north-western Libya.
In truth, only God can save any migrant who gets stuck in Libya after abandonment by heartless Libyan traffickers and kidnappers or arrest and detention by the police. But the mortal that I only am, I am determined to save as many migrants as possible from asking God to save them after embarking on an ill-advised trip to Libya.
Therefore, starting tomorrow and for the next 20 days, I’ll be on a campaign of short videos enlightening the public on why they should steer clear of Libya. These videos will be on all social media platforms, but my primary targets are Tiktok and Facebook, where traffickers often hoodwink unsuspecting youth with fake promises of a better life.
For the first 10 days, my messages will be released in English (morning) and Pidgin (evening).
The final 10 days will be made in Hausa (morning), Igbo (afternoon) and Yoruba (evening), consequently eliminating language barriers among subliterates and illiterates, who constitute the prime target groups of traffickers.
I know some will only learn by experience and will proceed to Libya regardless of advisories to the contrary, but I also know many would stay put in Nigeria if they had access to credible information.
Migrants like ‘Para’ and Samuel who told me “I wouldn’t have come if I knew I would suffer this much”, those are my targets. So help me God!
“Make sure you don’t sleep,” one trafficker belted out. “If you sleep, you fall off. And if you fall off, you die!”

A chilling encounter with four shabbily dressed policemen who threatened to shoot at me last last night…
The full story:
I left the State House in Marina at 10:46pm yesterday after my final work engagement, heading home; first, to pick up a stuff I was to deliver to a journalist colleague at The Nation newspaper on Fatai Atere Way in Matori, Mushin.
We had agreed to meet at the newspaper’s office at 8pm but I forgot to carry the item I was to deliver while I rushing out to work earlier in the day.
I also had a plan to visit a hospital to see my family’s newborn and the mother after leaving The Nation newspaper’s office.
Unfortunately, I left work late.
So, I called the journalist colleague who was still in the office if he could tarry for me, while I quickly drove back home to pick the item and meet up with him at Fatai Atere Way to deliver the item.
Item delivered to the receiver.
Then, I thought of stopping at the hospital, too, about 10km away from the newspaper’s office.
Time was already 11:34pm when I departed The Nation’s office, heading to the hospital via Daleko Road — the easiest arterial route to get on the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway.
I was on the arterial road around 11:36pm, but the vision was pretty poor due to the drizzling rain smearing my windscreen.
At a particular spot on the stretch, I noticed a passenger mini bus (painted in commercial bus yellow) in front, moving slowly right in the middle of the two-lane road inward Daleko Bridge.
I honked at the driver to pull over to the side to allow me to drive past. The mini bus, however, narrowed the path further, forcing me to immediately apply brake.
I flashed my headlights to full intensity to see what the bus driver was up to.
To my horror, I saw a hooded occupant sticking out his head from the middle seat of the unregistered mini bus, flagging me down. The full light revealed the shadows of other occupants, clearly indicating the danger of getting too close to the mini bus.
I was extremely terrified!
“Oh my God! These guys seem to be robbers,” I yelled at myself.
There was no other vehicle riding on the road at the time; we were the only two vehicles on the road in the first 3 mins of the encounter.
I immediately put my vehicle in reverse, trying to escape from what might be coming. Then, the first occupant got out of the mini bus, wearing black armless jacket with vague insignia and holding a gun.
My heart literally jumped out of my chest.
I had moved about 7 metres back, but stopped the vehicle when I saw the gun-wielding hooded man approaching faster.
The second occupant got out of bus with a tear gas gun. This made me think they might be policemen.
My heart started beating again.
The third occupant got out, holding a gun. The driver parked in the middle of the road and came down too.
I slowly wounded down, staring frighteningly at the armed men as they walked towards me.
“Come down, we want to search your boot,” one of them barked at me.
They didn’t identify themselves. The “police” tag on the jacket one of them was wearing was barely visible.
I complied with their order. I got out gently, walked to the back to open the boot of my SUV. One of them searched, while I stood there, still recovering from the horror that had gripped me.
Well, I usually don’t leave any item in my boot other than the spare tyre, hydraulic tools and road safety gears that are meant to be there.
Since he didn’t see anything to complain about, the hooded guy requested for my driver’s licence.
I said: “Oga, I don’t think the manner with which you just approached me is appropriate. Now, you are asking me for driver’s licence by this time of the day.
I’m going to the hospital, pls.”
“If you like, be going to church. It’s none of our business. Get your vehicle’s and driver’s licence out now,” the hooded “gun-wielding man hollered.
