@atrupar I have heard soooo many mob movie acronyms for killing.
Whack, hit, pop, clip, burn, ice, take out, rub out, bump off.
Il bacio della morte.
Pushing up daisies.
Concrete overshoes so victims sleep with the fishes.
But "86" as a mob movie term for murder? Never. Getoutaheah
@Knecht241@RedWavePress Ummm... you write one headline on a story when prices are rising, and a different one when prices are falling. Different circumstances = different headlines. You've found an example of journalism, not bias.
Flabbergasted at how absolutely useless this place in terms of getting breaking news. Twitter used to be incredibly helpful during the War in Ukraine, Afghanistan and other global events. Now it's AI Slop and non-chronological tweets.
@JonathanTurley Seriously? That's your hot take? Read in context, Smith says that he had so much evidence against Trump that Hutchinson's hearsay testimony wasn't needed. He doesn't cast doubts on its veracity, just says, in a brief aside, it wasn't necessary to prove Trump's guilt.
It is a dark day for freedom of the press. Paramount’s decision to settle with Trump will only embolden him to continue his attack on the media.
Trump is undermining our democracy and moving us towards authoritarianism, and the billionaires are helping him do it.
@ChadPergram "Landslide" Oxford definition: "an overwhelming majority of votes for one party in an election." Donald Trump: 49.9% of the votes cast. That's far from a landslide or mandate. Hold that gavel tight, @SpeakerJohnson, it's gonna be a rough ride.
@TencicFred Cut the Audi driver a break. It's not a big car - and the parking spaces look very skinny. And you don't know if the car to the left was there when the Audi parked. Coulda been a big car in their small spaces. Wanna vandalize someone? Target whoever designed this parking lot.
@greta In journalism, Greta, it's called inverted pyramid style. You put the most important thing highest in the story. Once AG Bondi starts Russian-style show trials of opponents, it will be her loyalty, not her legal resume, on full display.
@SteveSkojec@MoosemanNYC@PrinceOfAvalar @harris_wins Not the flex you thought. Southern Democrats' opposition to the civil rights laws you cite was the key reason for them switching to the GOP. You've put a spotlight on the proof beneath @MoosemanNYC 's argument. You're a flat-earther pointing to a globe and saying "See? Told ya."
@ismurray Oh, Iain. I've lived through this many times. This is the same argument trotted out every time regulators rein in gouging by credit card issuers. Despite bankers' predictable boo-hooing, they won't pull out of the market. They'll keep lending. It's too profitable for them.
@TCAT031013@TexasScorecard It still is a safe place to live and visit. You really have to stop watching Fox News and fact-free fearmonger sites. https://t.co/KSCOwguEaD
@MollyJongFast I've commissioned a lot of polls in my news career. A sample size of 1,000 (cell + landline) absolutely is nationally representative with a MOE of +/- 3.5%, and is, in fact, the standard unit sold by many polling companies. Bias is always a thorny issue, but not this sample size.
