Every Transit Month, one lucky rider who logs the most BART rides wins a special prize.
Last year's winner was Jaime Espitia, who logged a whopping 422 unique BART rides in Sep 2022!
Jaime's prize was a ride in a BART cab with a Train Operator and learned how to operate a train

We've now had 2 instances in which #CEQA legislation was required to correct for judicial overreach that 1) capped student enrollment & 2) blocked student & homeless housing @UCBerkeley 😔
#CEQA delays & costs are catastrophic for most projects.
THE RESULTS ARE IN: First year of 24/7 speed cameras leads to declines in speeding, injuries, and fatalities during expanded hours:
⬇️ Speeding down average of 30%
⬇️ Fatalities down 25%

Legislators agree unanimously that human noise should not be considered "pollution" for the purposes of CEQA.
This is the ridiculous assertion that has repeatedly held up desperately needed student housing in Berkeley.
Thank you @BuffyWicks.
Proud to share that #AB1307, which would reverse a recent legal precedent that “people are pollution” and that human noise is an environmental impact under CEQA, passed the Assembly unanimously!
BART’s use of unarmed Ambassadors and Crisis Intervention Specialists as full time staff has become a model in the industry.
7% of calls for service have been diverted from police to an employee with training in social work, allowing officers to focus on high priority calls.
Having the all too regular experience of my office reaching out to Public Works on behalf of one of our neighborhoods inquiring about traffic calming only to hear that yet another engineer is transitioning out of the Transportation Division.
I started at Cal in 2000 and am incredibly grateful this program had been established - it absolutely changed my life. Not sure I would have become a transit enthusiast or BART director without it.
And yes I remember the sticker well. I used to rush to get it every semester 🙂🚍
Just want to make sure housing Twitter is aware that the former mayor of Davis and his wife brought a CEQA suit against the city for…moving playground equipment. They are bringing legal action to prevent a kids’ zipline in a playground. https://t.co/q7cw05NCGY
70 new affordable and supportive homes coming soon to 180 Jones in the Tenderloin. This site used to be a parking lot, now it will be a part of the solution to addressing the homelessness and housing affordability crises.
I’m introducing policy changes to BART’s bike rules, including ending the ban on bikes on BART escalators.
It’s time to end this restriction to make it easier for riders to use bikes and BART together.
BART Board will vote Sept 28.
