Day 2 of YC
- asked @sama what data/context LLMs need to assess people’s fit for jobs
- asked @pedroh96 how he prioritizes customers and bottlenecks
need more alpha
I was rejected by @ycombinator 9 times
I got in on my 10th attempt. there was no secret sauce
the idea is similar, but i'm walking in with traction (to the point people ask us why we are doing yc - a post for later)
we have a team, insane customers, and a clear vision of how we scale to 100B
I got lucky along the way and found people who believed in me. I almost quit 10 times but each time I reminded myself I didn't want to leave this earth with any regrets
so here I am taking my shot
p.s. - watch the video when I applied solo 2 years ago

Excited to announce that I’m joining @talentpluto as Founding Growth
Can’t wait to build, experiment, and help scale something from the ground up.
Super grateful for this opportunity and excited for what’s ahead. Let’s do it.
Recording video testimonials with candidates who got hired through pluto.
Nobody tells you how hard this is. The lighting, the takes, the logistics.
But then people tell their story and it stops feeling like a shoot. You just listen.
These are part of something bigger. Coming soon.
Titles do not always translate
A VP of Sales at a 20-person company may be building the entire sales motion
A VP at a 2,000-person company may be managing an established team
Same title, different work
Before engaging with a role, evaluate stage reality
- Is ICP repeatable?
- Is the founder still closing deals?
- Is pipeline flowing, or do you need to create it?
- What is the sales motion?
- How much process exists today?
If you cannot answer these, you cannot assess fit
talentpluto helps top GTM talent land roles at high-growth startups by matching based on stage preference, sales motion, and goals

If A Founder Can’t Understand What You Do In 10 Seconds, You’ll Get Passed On
Before you chase the next big opportunity, take a hard look at how you’re presenting yourself online.
For GTM professionals, LinkedIn is the front page of your personal brand.
And the most common mistake we see?
Candidates don’t know their story.
If you don’t know yourself, you can’t sell yourself.
And if you can’t sell yourself, you can’t sell a product or an idea.
Self-awareness isn’t just knowing your strengths in your head
It’s about communicating your narrative clearly and consistently to the people evaluating you.
Because founders aren’t reading your resume first anymore.
They’re scanning your LinkedIn.
And in 10 seconds, they’re asking
Do I understand what this person does?
If the answer is unclear, they move on.
In GTM roles, clarity wins.
talentpluto understands you beyond your LinkedIn
Pluto analyzes how you sell, what you’ve built, and then matches you directly to founders who need exactly that.

The best startup jobs rarely feel like “jobs”
They are moments of alignment between
- a founder who urgently needs something built
- an operator who has already built it before, or who has the slope to learn on the spot and build quickly
