Last year around June, I had to get an ACL reconstruction surgery,was found with inflamed joints partly due to Endometriosis.

Currently surviving on painkillers to try & live a somewhat normal life.

Hanifah Nakiryowa was a makerere student who married her lecturer, allegedly so she and her friends could have their marks sorted, only for the relationship to end in divorce and the same man to later hire people to pour acid on her face.

University can be exciting, but it can also expose our sisters to situations we may never know about.

As families, let’s not assume that because she is at campus, she is fine. Call your sister or daughter. Check on her. Ask about her friends, her relationships, her lecturers, her mental state and what she may be going through.

Sometimes, one genuine conversation can reveal what she has been afraid to say. Don’t wait for tragedy to remind you that you should have.

This means that other countries are free to recruit our health workers into their systems. Those who have been looking for Kawogo, the work is officially open for you.

Medical workers are still very much needed in Uganda with many of our hospitals’ staffing rate being at 24%, however there’s no will to hire then. Please try your luck out there.
