One: You were born in 1956.

Since you were said to have been born in February, that means you were already a full fifteen-year-old before Yakubu Gowon announced that “Naira” was now our decimal currency.
As today is the 22nd of October, 2023 it implies that you have been alive and therefore witnessed all the decline of the “Naira” from the point where Naira was 0.658 to a Dollar until now when it is 1190 Naira to a Dollar on the parallel market.

In fact, by some interesting arc of fate, you come from Bayelsa same place Oil was first discovered in Nigeria and were born in 1956 same year Oil was discovered in Nigeria in commercial quantities. Oil, the major export that became the main foundation of our forex.

Deduction One here is that you saw, first hand, everything as it happened. These things may be part history and part experience for us younger people, but for 67-year-olds like you Sir, they were/are fully something you experienced.

Two, you were once a Senator, you once sat in the red chamber, the highest lawmaking body of our dear great country. Long before then you had branded yourself as a man who made common sense.

So with several decades and years of experience on business and common sense, you sat in a seat for four years where you had the power to introduce/sponsor a bill.

You did not introduce/sponsor the #BuyNaijaToGrowTheNaira Bill.
You did not introduce/sponsor any bill to curb bloated spending/allowances/Salaries of the NASS.
You did not introduce/sponsor any bill that prevents top Government functionaries from frivolous spending, medical tourism etc.

You sat there alongside other senators, suspended your common sense and fed fat on the commonwealth.

Deduction Two: Your business and political journey strongly suggests that you knew, witnessed and benefited from all the policies, executive orders and bills across boards that saw that Nigeria imported more than it exported, and consumed more than it produced.

Three, you are a politician under the PDP banner, you are supposed to be in opposition. The pardonable though silly thing would have been for you to call all out the present active players. But of course, you could never, you have no moral higher ground.

So you resolve to shooting blanks. You start to shout into the air. How dare you come on here to tell the same people whose commonwealth you joined the establishment to pillage what to do. The effrontery!

Deduction Three: You are unable to read the room and have no integrity or character at core to back your misdirected outlook.

In conclusion, you had the experience, witnessed the complete Naira history, had the resources, and held the position. You, for four years (2015-2019) had everything you could possibly need to try to execute that which you bay about today. And Sir you also lack the common sense to know to keep quiet if you cannot direct your call to the most appropriate stakeholders.

When a dog wags its tails, the joy is in the head not the tail. One would think that an elder such as yourself would already know this.

But look at you now, void of voice and reason.

So No, the Naira is not “finding” its proper and natural value.
No, the Naira is waking up from an induced coma to find out how much it’s been raped by the very people purposed to be Guardians of her. The $1.5B monthly wasn’t to defend the Naira. It was an anaesthesia deployed to numb the pain and brutality of the acts of the rapists.

Now Naira is awake, screaming for pain and sobbing uncontrollably in full despair as she bleeds away more and more of her life force.
