Well done, seriously well done but for me its like shouting "We're Ofsted Outstanding"! Don't do it. It just pits everyone in education against each other and makes others feel crap if their results aren't as good. Well done though.

SATs results are all about cohort and context.
Our Year 6 did brilliantly this year yet we are just below national figures. The significant SEND in the cohort is five times the national average including a number of children who did not take the test…
@stoneman_claire Thank you for sharing. We do this too. I think it’s important. Language is important and the details can make a difference to the relationships you build.

The reality of the job of a headteacher has drastically changed in the last 9 years ( how long I’ve been a head). This is my now reality.
Breathing out, ready to go again.

@MichaelT1979 Mark Finnis @Markfinnis was great. Supported our implementation of restorative practice. Relatable, interesting, inspiring and entertaining 😊
@Emma_Turner75 Agreed. Your threads make me think 😊 I think these one size strategies can be a response to the lack of time in schools to develop teachers individually; they can also be part of a more concerning ‘top-down’ quick fix approach that takes us back to tick box lesson observations.
@Emma_Turner75 We scaffold to support children’s’ learning. Some schools need significant improvement, a lesson structure provides scaffolding for teachers. Not so every lesson is the same but so there is shared vocabulary and understanding of strategies. Then, the scaffolding can come down.

A small thread on live marking:
I've found, as many of us have, that marking in the moment has by far the most impact and reduces after-school workload. Me and any additional adults always circulating. But teachers say they find it hard, and it's almost always for same reason...
