Paul John show some decency and report the facts. Celtic statement declared war on the Ned's who threw tennis balls. It explicitly says they accept criticism and will continue efforts to improve engagement. That doesn't get clicks though does it?
🗣️ "Celtic are at, or near, an inflection point.”
David Low joins us to discuss Dermot Desmond, the board, the AGM, supporter power - and what might happen next at Celtic.

@CelticFC calls this board refreshment.
Here is what the filings show.
Peter Lawwell left the board on 31 December 2025. It took 261 days to fill his seat. Tom Allison left in April. His seat is still empty, because the director announced on Friday cannot start until he leaves his current job, and no date has been given. Brian Wilson has been interim chairman for nine months. Celtic has not appointed a permanent one.
That is not refreshment. That is a board that cannot make a decision.
Look at who made this one. Celtic’s 2025 annual report says the Nomination Committee was Peter Lawwell as chair, Dermot Desmond, and Tom Allison. Two of those three have since left. So either one man selected both new directors, or the committee was rebuilt and Celtic has not told its shareholders how.
No external search has been disclosed. No skills gap analysis. No candidate pool. Nothing about how either name was found.
The interim chairman introduced the two appointees “both as lifelong Celtic supporters and highly successful individuals in their professional careers”. Supporter first. For a plc board, the order tells you what the criterion was.
One of the two holds 6,525,847 ordinary shares, 6.9% of the class. Together with Dermot Desmond, two directors now hold around 41% of the ordinary shares. Desmond has been on this board for 31 years. Brian Wilson for 21. The governance codes treat 9 years as the point at which independence stops being assumed.
The CSL scored Celtic 1.2 out of 5 on governance. The peer group averages 4.1. Friday changed two names. It did not change the process, the committee, or the pool.
Four questions for the board, and they are answerable in a paragraph:
Who chaired the Nomination Committee for these appointments?
Was an external search adviser engaged?
Is Mark Keane classified as an independent non-executive director? and on what basis.
When does the interim chairmanship end?
Shareholders are entitled to an answer before the AGM.

@bhoysviews@mcginleybhoy Agree but this board won’t he will probably go due to ill health and Maloney will get gig with Brown as assistant embarrassment
We needed a decent GK, we didn't buy one
We needed a Def Mid, we didn't buy one
We needed fresh legs to manage Cal Mac we didn't
We needed to replace Engels, we didn't
We needed a LW, we have to endure Tounekti.
But our bank balance is massive. Thanks @CelticFC HH
I STRONGLY urge every Celtic fan who has put a single penny into the club in recent years, whether it being a friendly ticket or a fucking scarf to go and watch this immediately.
The channel is called The Business of Sport.
We are run disgracefully. Makes you feel sick.
🍀 "This is all to do with the way the club is run at the top end and that's where the blame lies"
Chris Sutton discusses Celtic’s Champions League qualifying defeats from over the years, and where it’s gone wrong ⤵️
Celtic spending big if they navigate through the UCL qualifers is a myth, the seven times they've successfully managed it, they've spent £6.7m on 4 players & loaning six, by comparison, the 11 times they were eliminated, they then spent £39.25m on 17 players & signed 35 in total.
If something can go wrong it probably will 🫤🙄
Midfield (defensively) M.I.A
Hopefully whoever at Celtic thinks McGregor is a CDM has woken up now
No Nygren No Goals
Tierney injured & no back up
Every player off the bench basically made the team worse
Gutted.
Malmo
AEK
Cluj
Ferencvaros
Midtjylland
Kairat
LASK
Seven times asked to qualify. Seven times out.
A club is what it repeatedly settles for. This is not misfortune, it is a strategy of managed absence, and it is signed off in our boardroom.
The board does not plan to take our seat at the top table. It budgets for missing it.
Nothing has changed.
