Publishing this during ongoing combat operations where our sons and daughters are still in harms way is a stunning act of journalistic malfeasance.

If this reporting is accurate, understand what allegedly just leaked:

Named sitting four star commanders. Their formal dissent from the Secretary. A classified force-allocation process. Orders being executed right now. During an American war.

That is extraordinary in American history.

A non-concur is supposed to be sacred ground inside the command process. The Secretary NEEDS a commander to be able to say, “Sir, I disagree. Here is the risk. I will execute.”

Now imagine knowing those words may be splashed across the newspaper tomorrow with your name attached.

You haven’t exposed dysfunction. You just poisoned candor at the highest levels of American command.

Worse, this isn’t gossip. Revealing where senior commanders believe forces are stretched, where they perceive risk, and which commitments they consider unsustainable gives an adversary information it can immediately exploit.

Americans are forward right now. Sailors are at sea right now. Pilots are flying RIGHT NOW.

Somebody allegedly opened the command tent during a war and invited the enemy to read over our shoulder.

And sure enough, it’s WaPo.
