Mel and Steve have been together for 15 years and Steve has always said he would ask Mel to marry him if Newcastle win a cup. He joked: “I’m starting to feel a bit nervous now. When I said it I never expected them to get this far.”
Hannah Bush, seven, is a huge Newcastle fan and her parents said she’s been so excited about the game she was sick on Friday. She travelled to London with her family yesterday and headed to Trafalgar Square. She said: “It was really noisy and everyone was singing.”

Jimmy Bush attended cup finals in 1974 and 1976 and is hoping it will be “third time lucky” today. He said: “I haven’t seen them win yet so I’m hoping for a win today.
