@Coach_Rarick Your hesitation means you made a thoughtful choice. I know we are only twitter colleagues but your responses tell me you are making decisions for the right reasons
A5: I think there is a misperception that admin = power. Some people want to be in charge but those people are not great leaders. I have really liked the servant leaders I have worked with #UTedchat
A1: I feel sheepish saying anything. I am a new admin and I cannot think of any day where I have been able to do what I planned or even get to what I want #UTedchat
A4: @LesliJoe and @effort2learn already nailed this one. Focus on student outcomes. I never want carbon copy teachers but I absolutely want successful students. #UTedchat
@GeorgianaArtJoy What types of school-wide data do you use? We have been trying to make those connections and I would love to know what you have found as a good talking/starting point
@And_B_Clark That makes it so much better!!!! Your gif is a former player who retired in 2019 so all good. As an FYI - the Dallas kicker missed 5 goal attempts during the playoffs. He literally has one job and he blew it 5 times when it mattered
@LesliJoe Agreed. I think video is a great data source. Once we get over how much we hate watching ourselves we can focus on student interactions and outcomes
@pamturley55 I think our district perspective is βcoaching for all = growth for allβ but our teacher perspective still seems to be stuck in a remediation mindset. I agree. Secondary is a tougher sell than elem
@effort2learn The standard answer - it depends⦠I think the $ has moved the needle in terms of getting people to try coaching. We need to develop some go to first time topics. Long-term let them choose what to work on but initially we need a success so they want to keep going.
@KBeddes I wish I really knew this bc I have some people I would like to help. My instinct is what you already said - vulnerability. People need to know you have made mistakes and are open to learning so they can trust you
