“Applied AI Doesn’t Work.”
I literally work in applied AI in CX, so this got my attention 😅
Excellent read - applying to my industry:
If AI agents are so capable, why doesn’t every company have amazing customer support by now?
Because understanding “I was charged twice” and being able to fix it are very different things.
The agent needs to verify who you are, find the charges, check the refund policy, issue the refund, and confirm it actually happened. Across systems that may not agree with each other.
And someone has to decide what it’s allowed to do when your situation doesn’t fit the policy.
A human agent can get stuck behind those same constraints. Giving an AI their script doesn’t remove them.
This is a big part of my work as a forward deployed PM at Cresta. You start with “what can the agent do?” and end up asking “why does this need three approvals and two transfers?”
There’s also the question of what we call success. A company can measure fewer calls reaching humans. The customer measures whether they have to call again.
If those goals diverge, a very capable agent can become a very effective obstacle.
Then we wonder why people immediately ask for a human.
Better models help. But the deployment has to give the agent a real path to resolution, clear limits, and a useful handoff when it reaches them.
Otherwise, we’ve taught “please hold” to sound empathetic.
We’re welcoming Super Bowl champion, Bay Area legend, and media icon @MoneyLynch to Team Cresta.
He earned the name Beast Mode by being unstoppable. Now your customer experience can be too.
Call the right play. Solve the problem. Never fumble.
Put your customer experience in Beast Mode with Cresta.

Idk how people one shot amazing visuals with Astra - someone please teach me!!
My experiments so far: breakfast is my favourite food of the day and we had Turkish brunch with friends in SF so inspired by that
Here are 7 ideas what to cook: healthy high protein 😋🍳☕️
But also like - this took me ~10 iterations back and forth - to be fair it’s from my phone 📱 which is impressive + the animation was super easy to do and export
@OpenAI@ChatGPT@nickaturley dear ChatGPT product team, can we pls fix this? :) I just paid 24 usd to re-join pro plan - asking your own product about your latest model is a great be a pre-launch checklist item
Every time I open Claude lately to ask it for help with personal life tasks/Amazon order, etc., I get SO EXCITED like I'm a kid about to get their favorite ice cream. Computer use got 10x better, and it can do so much - from LinkedIn posts, personal finances, to finding me a great laundry basket. Grateful to be living in the time to experience this shift
Just walk around and meet new people - serendipity is crazy in this city. Don’t be afraid to show up and enjoy where it takes you ✨ bet small don’t over invest into events or people in the beginning just see who you like hanging out with and like just see what there places you like being surrounded by- it’s very personal to each and every one of us and just build your taste on events and things to do overtime
I had a perfect Saturday morning on paper.
work going really well lately, good impact trajectory for me, we ship like crazy, agents building agents, and SFmaxxing
...and yet something felt off.
So I took time for myself - long shower and face mask, high protein breakfast, some stretches, wearing my favorite home outfit -> all that helped, to some extend
Then, we went on our regular neighborhood walk in SF with my partner, and he mentioned this idea about hidden tigers. hidden stressors in our lives. And it all started to make so much more sense.
The idea is to ask yourself - "hey, what's is stressing me right now? on a free Saturday, when I can structure my time however I want."
and it turns out, yes: there are still worries about work, an upcoming launch, career trajectory, social perception.
on a workday it's so much easier to explain and rationalize it -> on a saturday it's harder and I'm grateful I can dive deeper into what's actually there
I think that's why a good morning didn't feel like enough. you can't really recharge while still carrying that hidden stress (tigers).
I don't the tigers fully leave either. I don't think that's the point. but I can notice them, soothe them, take some of the power back and decide how I want to spend my Saturday|
p.s. Getting back into writing in public, let's see how it goes
Also my 2am ideas
thinking of co-hosting a small 7-8 people vibe coding / coworking evening in 2 weeks (thurs night) - mission district, chill vibe with decaf coffee / neon lights, would love to meet more SF builders
DM / comment if you’re interested to join / have ideas for the format / want to co-host
