My favorite wide receiver drill of all time - the Box Drill.
Emphasizing a sudden and violent hip drop giving no indicators in our vertical stem.
This drill can be used for all route angles.
The ability to drop our hips suddenly and violently - running at a cover defender full speed, then sinking our hips with force, stopping on a dime, and changing direction sharply. All without giving away any indicators to the cover defender that we're about to stop.
Great reps here from Branch and London #DirtyBirds
One of my favorite Russell Wilson stories dates back to right after he was drafted. The Seahawks had just signed free agent QB Matt Flynn to a 3-year, $26M deal — mega money at the time.
Wilson, the undersized 3rd-round pick, not only won the starting job, but went on to win NFL Rookie of the Year — and soon after that lead Seattle to its first-ever Super Bowl title.
It didn’t always come easy for Russ, but he undoubtedly went on to become one of the best quarterbacks of a generation, Walter Payton Man of the Year and a surefire Hall of Famer. 💯💯
He’s going to be the Millennial’s version of Steve Young. Hard to appreciate in the moment, but we’re going to look back and recognize one of the best to ever do it.
One time, I had a parent tell me:
“Coach, my kid’s probably your 12th or 13th guy. I’m just glad he’s on your team because I know he’ll get better.”
18 months later, he was a starter.
Honest. Self-aware. Team-first.
Refreshing.

Open gym runs need to have structure
• shot clock
• specific defences given per game for ball screens & DHO’s
• hard man to man defence with help principals enforced
• run specific actions on offence - change it per game
• Situational games
• hold players accountable
ICYMI: Luke Murray on what he learned from Dan Hurley at UConn 👀
“The way that he shows up every day… the way that he was able to lead by an incredible example. That’s something that I take away more than anything else.”

This clip is a prime example of the ridiculous movement of UCONN’s offense under Danny Hurley broken down by @CoachHackGO
This is an ABSOLUTE nightmare for teams to guard for 40 minutes
Every head coach knows this:
A great assistant changes everything.
They lift your culture.
They protect your standards.
And they determine how far your team can really go.

“I tried to explain to guys, the art of playing WR is like knowing what I’m doing and keeping it a secret as long as possible, and the DB is just trying to figure out what your running.”
“I love guys that play at max capacity. If you’re only a 4.6 I want you playing at 4.6.” 🛎️
“If you’re already fast and you don’t play fast like we’re in alert.”

A high school basketball team doesn't win championships in March, it wins them in July, in empty gyms, with no crowds and no hype. The work you do when no one's watching is what shows up under the bright lights.
