@EricKnauerMD@MarkusZiesmann Good point, Eric. Drainage of fluid AND gas r both important - not mutually exclusive. I would argue A-C r all correct - all important reasons to place an NGT. We have all seen pts subjectively feel better after NGT insertion. NG fluid output also correlates w SBO resolution...
We r seeking potential PhD students interested in #interdisciplinary research.

We can't wait to share w u our progress. Altho meaningful advances do take time
Aggressive spread = late diagnosis + recurrence after treatment... A reality that we see everyday in our patients.

@skobner @KristinCollie20 @whole_patients Great observation. One must also not forget that the goals of medical care is not just about "sustaining life", it can (& should) be about relieving suffering. Futile "care" achieves neither. Ideally, decisions should b made w pt n family but often we don't have time on our side.
@coggi33@WestmeadSurgery I'm sure many before me have made the same observations... But I do love a good simple formula, just because I'm a big nerd! π
Thanks for disseminating this! @WestmeadSurgery has a great culture of learning and teaching bc learners, teachers and institution proactively maximizes opportunities and minimizes barriers. No spoon-feeding! Welcome to our 2022 fellows/regs/SRMOs/JMOs!
Anyone seen orientation slides like this? A/Prof @tcypang explains barriers to transfer of knowledge from teacher to learner. O=opportunity. dK=knowledge gradient. R1=barriers on part of the teacher. R2=barriers on part of the learner. Welcome to our new SRMOs and Registrars!
The kidney transplant jacket is one step closer to clinical practice! Congratulating Prof Henry Pleass and A/Prof Tony Pang @tcypang on their recent $2 million grant success with the @NSWHealth Medical Devices Fund. https://t.co/w6n0YaBf1I
Great advice! I recently "found" #fiction n it has dramatically improved my thesis writing. I think my supervisor appreciates it too! #phdlife#secretsauce
To escape the stress of grad school, I read fiction https://t.co/Des0n5QXQp
@chris_nahm the second p wave has a distinctly different morphology suggesting ectopic origin... (ie, don't think its an av conduction problem). don't trust me tho, haven't seen an ecg for years! #physicianwhocuts What's the answer?
