@offgridteacher 100% agree. Had this happened at a school I worked at… had a lockdown, and they let us know by having an admin run from class to class yelling “Lockdown!”. No one was hurt but, like, we had no plan to handle an emergency in case of down phone/internet… they still don’t 🤦🏻‍♀️

insane how the only notable change since Sandy Hook is that kids are now formally trained to hide, barricade doors, fight, or run for their lives. that was the solution. to literally put the responsibility on them to figure it out and wish them luck.

I know so many teachers are feeling under resourced and overworked. We must work with local and state leaders to provide our teachers with classroom assistance and bring new teachers into the field. If our teachers are burned out, then we need to change the way we operate.
