@EDavidWard @tsmitner I think it goes back to community agreements. Having the students come up with their own rules surrounding their devices will give them a sense of ownership and hopefully allow them to be more responsible! #CI5307
I also used Google Forms for my last day! The students preferred it over a paper-and-pen survey and now I know I can always look back and go over my very first feedback from kids. #ci5307 @tsmitner
On my last day at my placement, I used a Google Forms to get student feedback! Very easy and useful way to hear students voices with technology. #ci5307 @tsmitner
I’m a supporter of later start times! The school I did my placement at had a 7:30 start time and ended at 2:30z However, none of my students lived in Hopkins, making them have to wake up at 5 everyday just to get to school on time 🙁 #CI5307 @tsmitner
Really interesting article on school start times. I’ve seen noticeable differences between the level of interactions between early hours and later hours in my class. Are you all for later start times? Sound off below 👇 #ci5307 @tsmitner
I plan to use this twitter account even after #CI5307 is over because of all the resources and connections it’s opened my eyes to in these past few months! @tsmitner
Another plus of Zoom is the reactions! Sometimes students can’t be bothered with typing or coming off mute, and the emojis are quick and way to do a formative check on them #CI5307 @tsmitner
After having a few different classes and meetings on various platforms (Zoom, Google Meets, Teams, etc.) I still think Zoom is the superior platform for online meetings. At least the free version #ci5307

What another crazy election! There are many opportunities for lessons for students including polling inaccuracies and turn out numbers! #CI5307 @tsmitner
@stemmajor @mrbartucz @MrMonsonTech Hi Jack, I think that’s a great idea! Also, by allowing students to see the social sides of science, they can then be better equipped to apply these contexts to their personal lives! #ci5307 @tsmitner
@mrbartucz A4: new to teacher twitter so I haven’t gotten the chance to explore but i’m taking note of all the ones people responded with below!!! #ci5307 @tsmitner
@mrbartucz A3: I wish my program talked more about how to navigate difficult conversations with admin at a school. I think everything I’ve heard has been anecdotal but if we could have an actual workshop or discussion surrounding that, I think it’d be highly beneficial! @tsmitner #ci5307
@mrbartucz A1: I’d focus on incorporating multiple forms of “text” into the classroom. Instead of having delivering content via the traditional way of readings and textbooks, I would include pictures, poems, artifacts, and other forms that still present students with info #CI5307 @tsmitner
@mrbartucz A2: I'd like to use Jamboard with my students since it gives them the power to interact with the class in a variety of ways. They could add their choice images, texts, or ideas onto the platform all the while being able to view other students' work. #CI5307 @tsmitner
2 students fought in the cafeteria yesterday and almost the rest of the student body gathered to record on their cellphones
we already had a strict cell phone policy at the school but following that incident, it’s become more restrictive. talk about digital citizenship #ci5307
the student went through 4 stations learning about cultural aspects of indigenous people of Australia. One of stations student looked at art detailed the journey of indigenous children taken away from their homes going back to their roots. Students then created there own journey
