Trying to do the leaf discs practical - testing for year 13 to try - but doesn’t seem to be working. Trying with spinach today - get as far as removing the air but then nothing happens! Any ideas? @chatbiology @SAPS_News ???

@SAPS_News @chatbiology Yes I have been using that! We worked it out, I was over vacuuming the leaf discs and so collapsing the spongy mesophyll. Did a run through with 1 class of y13 today and almost all of them got discs to sink and float

I really hope that it’s not going to be brought back. We need less content and more time to go over practical work properly!

Biology A level teachers - looking at getting a kit to do electrophoresis with Y13 - we have tanks etc but which kits have you used and what is the best way to source cheaper micropipettes, some kits have them as optional? Currently looking at EDVOTEK cancer one @chatbiology
