Read of the Day: “artificial” intelligence and “imitation” crab
"They put it right in the title and so we believed them and now we’re acting as if these dumb autocomplete fuckdongs are the next stevie hawkings."

"We will award 10% of the value of each https://t.co/bT49XWMGwL Rewards stamp collected in OneKeyCash"
.... so, to rephrase that.... 'because Expedia took over https://t.co/TwVwJzsaWh, consumers lost *90%* of their rewards"
🥬MongoDB Parent Document Retriever
The fact that @MongoDB is a full-fledged document store, with its own query language, makes it perfect for more advanced retrieval techniques like "Parent Document Retrieval" - so we added a template to get started easily
👨👨👦Parent Document Retrieval is a retrieval technique where you first create larger "parent" documents, and then create smaller "child" chunks for each of those documents. You then create embeddings for all of the CHILD chunks
🔎During retrieval, you first look up semantically similar child chunks. The fact that you are looking up smaller chunks helps find the most relevant chunks
📃The issue with looking up smaller chunks, is that if you pass those directly to the LLM they may lack the necessary context. Parent Document Retriever overcomes this by passing NOT the child chunks, but instead the parent documents, to the LLM
s/o @zhanghaili0610 for this awesome diagram

This OpenAI board stuff is ridiculous - such incompetence! such flair! such drama! I put money on Trisha and Helen never being on another board again

It has to be said that the experience of working with Google Ads is SO MUCH WORSE than Instagram Ads, Facebook Ads, Amazon Ads, Twitter Ads... the entire interface looks like it was outsourced for $75
@0xgaut they hire the same designers and they rotate between companies spreading their total lack of original thinking (there's a youtube video somewhere about this... i'll find it)
