@RebalAid@Techjunkie_Aman Problem I have with defining "illegal" is that can be changed over time. What's legal today can easily be illegal in the future. VPNs are legal (for now), but there are governments currently trying to ban them.
@Techjunkie_Aman I've lost trust in Proton as a whole. Between inserting AI into their email service, and activists getting their accounts reinstated only because the CEO "sympathized" with their cause.
@GiovanniCinghia@TutaPrivacy@signalapp@ThreemaApp@session_app@SimpleXChat It's marketing. Signal is used more simply because that's what content creators have pushed over the other options, not necessarily because it's "the best". Not to mention the whole "court proven" sales pitch is misleading.
@subq@MarauderMag@TutaPrivacy@session_app That's probably Session's only major fault. Meanwhile Signal has multiple major faults, including the phone number requirement.
@Techjunkie_Aman@ProtonMail Honestly, this doesn't offer any incentive for users to completely move away from Google. If anything, this will be a crutch for most users to not abandon Google at all.
@RebalAid Not surprising. Signal failed to update users for over a year before announcing mobilecoin. At this point, there are more reasons to NOT use Signal, than to use it.
Would love to see Session build more presence on Youtube & other platforms, possibly gain ad-revenue as additional funding. Rather see privacy content from services themselves instead of content creators who offer only lip service, yet make tons of money.

@GuyWithAGirlPFP@brave Stop bundling AI & crypto crap. No excuse to NOT turn those into optional add-ons/extensions, instead of baking them into the browser.
@anthonieisacnt@JMHBM01@mullvadnet Funny how pointing out a legit security concern is considered "paranoia". Especially with a company as shady as Google.
@CubeDims@JMHBM01@mullvadnet Just love how pointing out a significant security concern is considered "paranoia". Threat model is useless if you're going to ignore legit concerns and pretend they don't exist.
@Techjunkie_Aman Ah, but does Bitwarden allow users to attach files into the database like KeePassXC does? Not saying people should be storing all their files in KeePassXC, but it's nice being able to store some pics or docs within the encrypted database.
"I hope Linux will support..."
People often have this backwards. It's the fault of the software devs, not Linux. If anything, Linux bends over backwards trying to get Win/Mac programs to work.
