I hardly ever post anymore but I'm confounded... just left my local grocery store and there was row upon row of ground coffee bags. NOT ONE SINGLE BAG OF WHOLE BEAN COFFEE IN THE ENTIRE STORE?!!!!

Is this really where we are at as a society now? Have we fallen so low

@Rickwild50 @jeremyct You forget the risk the owners are taking. There have been many times the housing market has gone down, plus you have to deal with bad renters that destroy the home and it has to be completely renovated after. And when they don't pay, that mortgage payment is still due

As it stands the demand outweighs supply by orders of magnitude. It takes time for manufacturers to adjust, it’s expensive and risky. The supply issue isn't going away

@justbriton @FrankRundatz Do you have any idea how huge of a loss they are operating at?? They HAVE to raise prices. Not sure if you've tried to build a PC recently, but RAM is expensive these days! They have to capture the userbase and establish market dominance before they can force prices up

@NoLeftTurns @Med1_Ai I used to do professional photography, I absolutely would never upload my clients photos to ChatGPT! If a locally hosted model was capable of it, sure maybe... but online where you're sharing their images with another company that is likely using it for training... sketchy

@heynavtoor If someone wants to do it, a chatbot wont save them either way... and there are scenarios where people might need that info for other legitimate reasons. The answer can't be to put so many restrictions on AI that it becomes useless, cars are dangerous too, should we ban those?
