.@JoeBiden’s public option is NOT a plan for universal healthcare. It leaves 10M people out. It creates a two-tiered system where for-profit insurers skim the healthy and young while the “public option” becomes a second rate, means-tested plan for the poor & sick.

Last night on a tip-off call I headed to LaGuardia airport & intercepted @ICEgov transporting several children to NYC, an outbreak hub, via commercial air.
If the Pentagon has halted all domestic travel for military, why is ICE transporting unaccompanied children in a pandemic?
It's great that Joe Biden is now supporting a position that was in the Democratic platform four years ago.
Now we must make all public universities, colleges and trade schools tuition-free for all, cancel all student debt, and fund it with a small tax on Wall Street speculation.
If our neighbor or co-worker gets sick, we have the potential to get sick.
If our neighbors lose their jobs, then our local economies suffer, and we may lose our jobs.
It is at this moment that we must remember that we are all in this together.
I'm sick and tired of hearing that we don't know how we'll pay for Medicare for All. Here's how:
1) Repeal the $1.9 trillion tax scam for corporations & the super-rich
2) Tax the rich
3) Shrink the military

$1.7T is not enough to tackle climate change.
Inadequate climate plans are a form of denialism over how bad this problem really is.
My generation & future ones will have to contend with the horrifying mess that the cowardly leadership of previous ones left us. It’s a betrayal.
Don’t say you support a fracking ban when you don’t. Don’t say you didn’t write the bankruptcy bill when you were one of it’s biggest champions. Don’t say you supported ending Hyde a long time ago when you were just pressured into it last year.
This is basic. The truth matters.
Thanks to @KateAronoff for the most detailed (and really fairly sad) report on @JoeBiden's climate record. It's of course far better than Trump's and far worse than @BernieSanders. More to the point, so far it falls way short of what physics demands

As millions of workers struggle without sick pay and as seniors deal with unaffordable medical bills, President Trump is working overtime to protect the real victims of the coronavirus: fossil fuel executives.
Due to family reasons I will not be able to participate in the marches in Grenoble and Paris this Friday and Saturday. Hope to return to France as soon as it’s possible.
How insane is this? We tell young people to get the best education they can, and then saddle them for decades with crushing loan debt.
It is not a "radical idea" to tax Wall Street, make public colleges and universities tuition-free, and cancel $1.7 trillion in student debt.
