We all admire people who have achieved greatness or undergone extraordinary transformation.
They feed our dreams.
They remind us of what is possible for us.
However, we should not confuse their life journey with our own.
Your purpose or calling is not to become someone else.
It is to discover the unique greatness that lies inside you.
"I often make important decisions based on what others expect from me."
Put another way, to what degree to are you living life according to your own preferences and inner compass, versus the external wants and expectations of others?
This is an important thing to know about yourself.
It is also the first of 24 short questions in a new online self-assessment based on the 4 core pillars featured in The Circle Blueprint: Independence, Power, Humility, ad Purpose.
The assessment provides a personalized PDF summary that includes:
- Your 4 pillar scores
- Your alignment archetype
- Your strongest pillar and key growth opportunity
- Reflection prompts designed around your answers
- A personalized 7-day action plan

I am open to your feedback and suggestions for improvement.
A sincere thank you to @MohnishPabrai.
I'm grateful for the kind words and for mentioning the work that we have done together.
I truly appreciate your friendship and trust.
As Warren Buffet has famously said, any investment we make in ourselves, especially in deeper self-discovery or finding our true life purpose, will always deliver the greatest ROI.
Another fantastic episode, @ShaanVP and @thesamparr.
Keep up the wonderful work @myfirstmilpod.
Many people I work with are doing well on the outside.
Yet something still feels off on the inside.
Their heart tells them that life has more to offer. More purpose. More fulfillment. More aliveness.
Next Tuesday, April 7th at 6 p.m, I will be hosting a live workshop called Live to Thrive!
We will explore how to gain clarity, revisit your early brilliance, and learn how to align your life so it feels authentically yours.
I hope to see you there.

"The chains of habit are too light to be felt until they're too heavy to be broken."
Such a wonderful quote.
Which habits or routines are you chained to that may need to be shed?
Over the years, I have been fortunate to coach several well-known investors, including Mohnish Pabrai and Guy Spier.
What often separates those who achieve true greatness is their courage to look inward for answers.
Thank you @GSpier, I am grateful for the kind words.
Steve Jobs followed his curiosity into a college calligraphy class that had no practical use. But it spoke to his eye for art and design.
Years later, Jobs would credit this class for inspiring the Mac’s elegant design and font system.
Follow your curiosity, even when it seems impractical. You may find the seed of greatness.
Being successful doesn't mean that you understand what's unique about you, or how you're wired as a human being.
I discuss this idea in the most recent Ask Dr. Jack question: “I’m a follower of Mohnish Pabrai and recently heard him on a podcast discussing the ‘owner’s manual’ you created for him years ago. Has it evolved or changed since then?”
Creating the first "owner's manual" for Mohnish years ago didn't just change his life. It also changed mine.
By sharing his inspiring story in many interviews and podcasts such as @myfirstmilpod, people from around the world reach out to me to do the same for them.
My life purpose is to change the world, one leader at a time.
I'll always be thankful to @MohnishPabrai for helping me live my purpose.

There are a variety of different personality types that I've seen become quite successful. Success can be cultivated in many ways.
But I have found that most successful people share two common traits:
In my experience, this is true even among the most accomplished leaders and CEOs.
The willingness to take on feedback, while being open and curious about how it might be true, is so important in personal/professional development and growth.
The Roadmap has changed the lives of leaders and entrepreneurs such as Rob Fraser, Jeremy Giffon, Mohnish Pabrai, and Andrew Wilkinson.
On Oct 14, for the first time, it will be available in a small group format. Limited to 6 seats. Secure your spot: https://t.co/FTKiHJpQL8
A leader’s greatest responsibility isn’t just to their team or the organization, or to shareholders. It’s to themselves.
Please take care of your own well-being. Not just for those who rely on you and love you. But most importantly, for yourself.
On our Monday Skeen Stronghold call, we discussed how, as children, play was our natural state. We were completely absorbed in the moment—naturally alive, curious, and unburdened by care or concern.
As adults, we often lose this magic. The weight of responsibility, worry, and duty takes the place of wonder. We stop playing and start toiling.
What if we remembered that work, and maybe even life itself, can be play?
What if presence became our natural state, helping restore our spirit of play and joy?
Thank you to my good friend @robbfraser for a fantastic conversation on episode 6 of the "Inside the Circle" podcast. As founder and CEO of @outwaysocks, Rob has channeled the competitive intensity and passion that made him a world-class athlete into a remarkable brand.
A few years ago, I paid a guy to do a brutal 360 review of my life.
Mental health evaluation.
Hours of interviews with me, my friends, and my co-workers.
He ripped me to shreds and told me all sorts of truths I didn't want to hear.
And it was one of the best things that ever happened to me.
