(1/N) New paper with a bunch of cool tricks and a bunch of even cooler tricks! We propose a new direction to look at #gravitationalwave events: backward! We have cool animations with @manim_community and reproducible open-source paper on @github with #showyourwork, keep reading!
Check out our new paper on rapidly constructing gravitational wave template banks! Stay tuned for more on GW searches and automatically-differentiable waveforms. Code and docs: https://t.co/KgvZzjpsZQ
Paper day! We found a simple way to construct template banks for GW searches with significantly reduced computational overhead. Start of a series of papers which try to make searching for your favourite GW signals easy! https://t.co/YiPzBgz3Wu @adamcoogan1@C_Weniger@horngsheng
A pair of papers with @tedwards2412, Luca Visinelli & @C_Weniger on Axion miniclusters and Neutron Stars have now been published in @PhysRevD and @PhysRevLett:

But I'm most proud of the fact that no-one objected to this footnote:
There is a lot of concern/confusion about vaccine effectiveness against the delta variant. How effective are the vaccines against Delta & how to interpret real-world observational data? So much misinformation is being circulated, so this thread brings key data together. 🧵(1/n)
New paper! 🚀We present an end-to-end differentiable strong lensing image analysis pipeline with @PyTorch and @PyroAi, using our own blazing-fast Variational Gaussian process implementation for the source + lens reconstruction. Important for #DarkMatter searches! 🧵👇
🍾New simulations of #DarkMatter axion to photon conversion near neutron stars, using @JuliaLanguage and autodiff to model radio wave propagation in highly magnetized plasma. Thanks to Sam Witte, Dion Noordhuis @GRAPPAinstitute and @tedwards2412! https://t.co/JKweHrjUom
You need to register TODAY for our awesome RAS Dark Matter meeting tomorrow. Mariangela Lisanti, Felix Kahlhoefer, Thomas Kitching, @ReadDark , @tedwards2412 , @redshiftedanna , Isabella P Carucci, Andrew Gow will be telling us how it is.

I'm planning to use https://t.co/fv6k0BfyfJ for my upcoming Machine Learning course at @GRAPPAinstitute, in particular for the TA sessions. Does anybody have experience with Gather for teaching, best practices, pitfalls, etc? Would love to hear that.
New GRAPPA paper: https://t.co/hruC177O9i
Led by PhD student @GRaaymakers the paper introduces a pipeline to perform multimessenger kilonovae + GW analyses and uses GW190425 as a case study!
Group news: new paper by PhD student @GRaaymakers on “the challenges ahead for multi messenger analyses of gravitational waves and kilonova: a case study on GW190425.”V proud of Geert & paper after 2 + yrs of developing the framework & analyses. https://t.co/pmNhqSYxN5
Two papers out yesterday with @BradleyKavanagh, @C_Weniger, and @lucavisinelli. We showed that there could be transient radio emission towards the Galactic centre coming from interactions between neutron stars and QCD axion miniclusters!
Two papers today! With @tedwards2412, @lucavisinelli & @C_Weniger, we wanted to know how often dense 'miniclusters' of #DarkMatter axions encounter Neutron Stars in the Milky Way.
Because when they do, they could produce bright transient radio signals: https://t.co/hNw0wmbIde
"A lack of mentoring, a lack of representation, a lack of support, really translates into people feeling unwelcome in the field." — astrophysicist Chanda Prescod-Weinstein (@IBJIYONGI) on why representation matters. At 8/11pm w/ @namshine | Producer: @GreggThurlbeck #BlackandSTEM
Been working on a website with @JamesAshoo for a few weeks aiming to help recent university graduates get into employment & graduate schemes as smooth as possible.
We just posted out first article here, any follows and clicks would be massively appreciated!
Astro/Physics tweeps: please let's not submit to arXiv on Wed and see the dip in submissions in support for #strike4blacklives. Why? Because #BlackLivesMatters & let's say enough is enough collectively. Please retweet
Our paper on gravitational wave and radio signals from QCD axion #DarkMatter has now been published @PhysRevLett - https://t.co/2OYRJ0PH1O
Congrats to @tedwards2412 for spear-heading this cool idea, and also to @MarcoChianese8, @samayanissanke and @C_Weniger for the fun collab!
New paper https://t.co/sGrYUAx424 with @horngsheng! We tried to understand whether signals from general binary systems could be missed in the GW search pipelines. Turns out it's possible! Good news is that we can search in the data from @LIGO and @ego_virgo
