I like to befriend women who used to argue with they daddy growing up or fought back against him. Just like me! You fear nothing in this life once you’ve done that.
And if I’m being honest, I’m only open to friendships with people who have stood up to their parents at least once before because at least I know you’re fucking honest
‘BACKROOMS’ director Kane Parsons says he would get “no enjoyment” out of using generative AI on any project — “It defeats the purpose entirely for me.”
“I think I'm in the same boat as most well-adjusted people. If I could snap my fingers and make generative Al disappear forever, I probably would.”

the “““girl’s girl””” industrial complex has made it impossible to have reasonable and honest conversations about female friendships in a group setting like this
People are being unnecessarily mean to this lady. So mean they don’t even realise she’s blaming herself for being off-putting, not saying she finds other women off-putting. Could’ve started a conversation about how growing up with weird or misogynistic mums, sisters and aunts actually makes you internalise a lot of guilt and blame about why the women who first knew you didn’t love you, but everyone is choosing to be weird. Just vile for no reason.
genuinely baffling how so many people read this as “i don’t like other women” and not “my mom fucked me up so much in a way that makes other women not like me” which is what it says.
I think some people aren't really understanding, it's not about corporations actually giving a fuck. They never did. It's moreso an indicator that it *used to* be seen as profitable to signal allyship, but that's just not the case anymore, which is sincerely concerning
I agree it is frustrating though, and certainly as socialists not in elected office we should be talking about it, and theorizing what effective strategy would look like and what kind of foundational power it would require to be successful.
Tbh, not sure a mayor *can* be honest about this as it’s happening—openly saying “the NYPD is my enemy, but admittedly they’re very strong and I lack the institutional muscle to defeat them at present” comes with basically all the negatives of fighting them but none of the upside
Robert Pattinson was the only actor to ask to read the script for Christopher Nolan’s ‘THE ODYSSEY’ before agreeing to star in the film.
“You want to read it? Everyone else just said yes,” Nolan replied.
