Good day Crime Watch. Pane police ikubira vanhu along Chiremba Road, just after bridge repaOK Mart. They’re causing a traffic jam around that area as shown in the picture below and then fine drivers $30 for encroaching a lane that turns into OK Mart. Zvinoita here? Traffic flows smoothly during the day vasipo kungouya kwavo zvotanga and end up demanding $30. To make matters worse, the road markings are not clearly visible. Zvanyanya svitsai shoko kuvanhu.

How are local businesses supposed to survive?

Police have set up a roadblock just 20 metres from the traffic lights at the corner of Robert Mugabe Road and Rotten Row. They are clamping vehicles and parking them on the pavements, completely blocking access to customer parking. As a result, we are losing customers every day.

If the new traffic cameras are operational, why is manual enforcement still blocking the road and creating chaos? Allegations of bribery are taking place in full view of our shops. This situation needs urgent attention.

WATCH | Yesterday, I travelled from Zvipani to Karoi and passed through three ZRP roadblocks: Magunje Hospital, Jingrison (I may not have the name correct), and Twin River.

At the Jingrison roadblock, I was stopped for almost an hour because I did not have a reflective jacket and a complete breakdown kit. I was told that the fine for these offences was US$30.

However, I noticed several motorists paying US$5 and being allowed to continue their journey without being given a receipt. I also paid US$5, after which my car keys were returned to me, and no receipt was issued. I managed to secretly record a video of what was happening because I felt people needed to see what was taking place at the roadblock.

It is concerning that there were three roadblocks on such a short route. The number of roadblocks seemed excessive and raises questions about their purpose.

Citizens deserve to be treated fairly and served with honesty, professionalism, and integrity. The law should be applied equally to everyone, and all fines should be handled through proper legal procedures with official receipts being issued.

𝗭𝗘𝗥𝗔 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝘀: The Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA) sets the maximum price. Service stations are legally allowed to sell fuel for less.
𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝗕𝗲𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗼𝗿: While some stations along Chiremba Road near Glenara used to discount fuel in the past, no service stations have dropped their prices below the current US$2 mark yet.

Good day I want to name and shame madam vanoshanda ku Central Vehicle Registry (CVR) office number 8. She is the one vanoita ma confirmation from VID. VP Chiwenga’s wife, Minnie Baloyi, shared a kind gesture that turned into a memorable birthday celebration.

Minnie said a young woman known as Rue once commented on her earlier post about Nando’s, mentioning that she had never tasted it before. Minnie responded by asking where Rue was so she could buy her a meal, but at the time Rue was outside Zimbabwe.

A few days later, Rue informed her that she had returned home. True to her word, Minnie arranged to give her $100 USD so she could enjoy Nando’s for the first time. Interestingly, the timing coincided with Rue’s birthday, making the moment even more special.

Minnie wrote in a light-hearted message:

“Happy birthday Rue, be blessed always. I pray for more Nando’s for you in future 😂❤️❤️❤️🙏”

Rue later shared her excitement after receiving the gift, saying she used the money to buy Nando’s exactly as promised. She described it as the best birthday gift she had ever received and even went on to do a small photoshoot to capture the moment, joking that her phone was not taking good pictures.

In her post, Rue thanked “mhamha Minnie” warmly and added: “I got $100 from mhamha Minnie Baloyi as a birthday gift and I bought Nando’s as she promised. Best birthday gift ever… One bite and my taste buds threw a party 🔥”
