When S4S Streamer MirrorMaskArts was a child, she spent two weeks in the hospital. No answers. No friends. Just fear and isolation while doctors tried to figure out what was wrong.
"My parents were limited in the time they could spend with me. I was completely isolated from my friends for two weeks. It was one of the most terrifying and isolating experiences I've ever had."
During her hospitalization, a nurse gave her a small bin of beads and string to make bracelets. It wasn't much, but it made all the difference.
Years later, Mirror still has frequent hospitalizations, managing fibromyalgia and chronic migraines. But now she's also streaming art and gaming while raising money for Starlight as an #S4S Ambassador.
When she learned about Starlight Gaming, Gowns, and Toy Deliveries, something clicked. These were exactly the types of programs she wished she'd had as a scared child in that hospital room.
"I know personally what relief I would have felt in that place with these programs, and I want them to feel that relief."
