Nope, As per under Article 172 of the Constitution timelines. President's Rule can be enforced generally for mininum 6 months and can be extended even further on Governor request.

It would be extremely risky to experiment with anything like that.

Did you forget Delhi, when AK resgined as CM in 2014, they delayed Elections for whole 1 year.

Six months to 1 year of Governor's Rule effectively means indirect BJP control over Punjab.

Officers can be transferred, BJP-friendly puppets can be placed, and many policies can be scrapped overnight by simply branding them as scams, exactly like what was done in Delhi.
