Cholera is an acute diarrheal disease caused by ingestion of food or water contaminated with feaces of an infected person.

Symptoms of cholera includes:

🤢 Watery Diarrhea
🤮 Vomiting
🥴 Dehydration

To stay safe⤵️

☑️ Practice good hygiene

☑️ Wash your hands with soap and water regularly, especially after using the toilet and before preparing food or eating.

☑️ Only drink tap water that has been boiled or bottled water.

Initiate breastfeeding within the first 30 minutes of birth to ensure that the baby suckles colostrum, (the thick yellowish foremilk), which is good for the baby because it provides immunity to the baby. It also prevents postpartum bleeding.

Update on the Cholera Outbreak in Lagos State.

👉Cholera Confirmation: Laboratory tests have confirmed that the outbreak is due to Cholera. The identified strain is highly aggressive and contagious, with potential for widespread dissemination.
