We wanted our honeypot to send detections in real-time, with fewer moving parts. Filebeat couldn’t be embedded as a Go package, so… we built Spike .
✅ fsnotify for file changes
✅ tail + batching
✅ at-least-once delivery
✅ log rotation
⚡ ~60K lines/sec (incl. cold start)
Will open source soon.

Switching between TypeScript/Golang and PHP really highlights how annoying PHPDoc comments are. Having to spam annotations just for IDE completion and type safety feels rough. Still love @laravel, but PHP could use some built-in type richness. 🤷♂️ #PHP#Laravel#TypeScript
At https://t.co/OCQohbCfRh we’ve struggled too long with flaky, bloated browser tests using Laravel Dusk. The Laracon preview of Pest 4’s new browser-testing looks like exactly the sweet spot we’ve been craving. Can’t wait! Kudos @enunomaduro 🚀 #Laravel#PestPHP#laracon2025 #pest
Until now, we didn’t have a strict contract between sensor and backend — and that left too much room for error.
With Protocol Buffers + https://t.co/XPcFng4lfK, we now generate:
• Go types for our sensors
• PHP types for our backend
• Versioned messages for compatibility
This week we started working on hp-proto: a centralized place for all our honeypot Protobuf definitions at https://t.co/aW3INJvKW3.
Each sensor runs in its own container and our supervisor Go-binary syncs alerts with our ingestion endpoint..

@azath0th@joedixon Thanks for answering florian! And do you just use laravel’s standard job dispatch or something like laravel-plain-sqs to get it into the right format? And how do you ensure JSON-schema compatibility between both?
🚀 I'm excited to share another sneak peek of securityhive's new dashboard!
Working on the vulnerability scanners section using Next.js, Shadcn components, TanStack Query, TanStack Table, and TypeScript. 🛠️
Less clutter, more native feel. Your feedback means a lot!
