@ThePrimeagen Dune vs LoTR. This is what you get when your ethics (EA) is godless and pure consequentialism: the ends justify the means. And the means are: signal to the only group that matters: rich tech.
"At most, I think the smartest human beings might be capable of being small cogs in vast machines that no one can understand or control. I trust that the guy who runs a single car factory, or the logistics manager of a major hotel chain, might know what he’s doing in his limited domain. I am, in contrast, inherently suspicious of those who think they have answers to questions like “What kinds of jobs should most people have?” or “Which goods should we manufacture at home instead of buying from China?”

@ThePrimeagen It's also an arrogantly linear way to view the world. I've caught a good deal of wisdom from former addicts and alcoholics washing dishes in the kitchens I used to work in. There is something to learn everywhere (but I'm not saying you should stop moving).
Hot take:
living a life of servitude and self sacrifice for family shouldn't be traded for a career by choice
your kids, your love, and your old age will be the only ones remembering the decisions you made
i would rather be rich in life than rich in bank
Podcasts are the one type of media that accepts you have a life.
YouTube strives for full engagement 100% of the time, TikTok has another video if you're bored for 2 seconds, and anything written needs your entire focus.
Podcasts fit into your life rather than consuming it.
@million_meal@DavidSacks As we were putting together the final cut I laughed pretty hard about how Sacks became the sleeper star of the whole thing. Glad to see the world agrees 😂
