Virginia is about to vote on whether abortion should enjoy constitutional protection even into the third trimester. Bishop Michael Burbidge has urged Catholics to confront what is at stake, and his impressive intervention is particularly valuable & raises a question considerably more profound than the politics of abortion: what does our society actually mean by human rights?
On 3 November, voters will decide whether to enshrine "reproductive freedom", a euphemism for destroying the most vulnerable members of our society, as a fundamental constitutional right (Lord have mercy!). The proposed amendment would protect third-trimester abortions where a physician judges them medically indicated to safeguard the mother's life or...And this is the slippery bit... physical or mental health, or where the unborn child is not viable.
We need to be precise to maintain credibility so let's be clear that this is not an unrestricted right to abortion for absolutely any reason until birth, but its provisions are substantially broader than Virginia's existing safeguards.
However, this is where the deeper moral problem really lies. We live in a culture increasingly inclined to understand human dignity through the language of autonomy, personal choice and individual freedom, but of course the unborn child possesses no autonomy to exercise, no political voice and no capacity to assert a competing claim. Does that make the child's humanity somehow less deserving of protection? Such a proposition is completely ridiculous!
The Catholic understanding of human dignity begins from precisely the opposite premise. Our worth is intrinsic to our humanity, not conditional upon independence, usefulness, wantedness or the ability to defend ourselves. Indeed, our moral obligations towards another human being become more compelling, not less, when that person is utterly dependent upon us.
None of this diminishes the profound suffering of women facing dangerous pregnancies, who deserve the very highest standards of medical care and genuine compassion. But compassion cannot be reduced to the assertion that only one human life matters.
What particularly interests me about Bishop Burbidge's response is his appeal to prayer, fasting and personal sacrifice. He recognises that the defence of human dignity must be something more substantial than another political campaign. Perhaps the ultimate test of a civilisation is not how enthusiastically it celebrates the rights of the autonomous and powerful, but how faithfully it protects those who have no power whatsoever.
And if human rights do not begin with our humanity itself, upon what foundation can they securely rest?
Fines are great. Handcuffs are better. This is an important read.

Former FBI, Director James Comey and I are both charged with the same crime; lying to Congress .He is allowed to turn himself in 10 days after being charged in private .My home is raided by 29 FBI agents at 6 AM to arrest me. CNN is there to film it LIVE
Ilhan Omar's home is raided at 6 AM. CNN does nothing but complain about it as a threat to democracy.
Two tiered Justice?
Dear Secretary Bessent @SecScottBessent,
My name is Everett Stern. In 2010 I was a compliance officer at @HSBC. From a back office in New Castle, Delaware, I watched billions of dollars move to drug cartels, sanctioned regimes, and terrorist organizations. The enemies of the United States. I documented it, I escalated it, and when the bank would not act, I took it to the @FBI, the @CIA, and eventually the @SECGov.
The result was a $1.92 billion settlement. At the time, it was one of the largest in American history. It was also about five weeks of the bank’s profit. Not one banker was charged. Not one went to prison.
I paid a different price. I lost my career, my savings, and my place in the industry I had trained for. I was blacklisted. Every door in American finance closed at once. I slept on a camping cot in a 300 square foot apartment because I could not afford a bed, and I waited tables at @PFChangs to eat. I tell you this not for sympathy, but so you understand that I know exactly what it costs to do the right thing in American finance, and exactly how little the system does in return.
I made that sacrifice because I believed it would change something.
Yesterday, your department fined @BankofAmerica $1.2 billion for failing to report more than $5 billion in suspicious transactions, some of it tied by your own findings to Chinese laundering networks, narcotics, and the southwest border, alongside 475 apparent sanctions violations touching Russia, Iran, and global terrorism. The bank admitted it willfully violated the Bank Secrecy Act.
Fourteen years after HSBC. A bank with “America” in its name. And once again, not one individual charged.
Secretary Bessent, I want to say plainly what I believe you already know. The fines are not working.
A fine is paid by shareholders, absorbed by the balance sheet, and forgotten by the next earnings call. Bank of America reported earnings this morning. Nobody who set the alert thresholds, nobody who decided the 2024 cease and desist could wait, nobody who chose the backlog over the law will lose a single thing they value. Their lives are untouched. That is the entire reason the behavior repeats.
This is money laundering. This is blood money. Money that reaches a cartel buys fentanyl that kills Americans. Money that reaches a terrorist organization buys the next attack. This country has fought a war on drugs and a war on terror for decades, at enormous cost in lives and treasure, and all the while we have allowed the financing to flow through institutions we charter and regulate. Cut off the money and we win. We have never seriously tried.
There is also a question of equal justice that I cannot let go.
Before I walked into the FBI building to report HSBC, I stopped in front of the Great Seal on the wall and read the words engraved beneath it: “Justice is the defense of our liberty.” I believed that. I still want to. But every day in this country, people go to prison for crimes that are nothing next to moving money for the people who want Americans dead. A suit, a title, and a corporate badge should not be a shield from the consequences that apply to everyone else. If a street dealer goes to prison for what he sells, the banker who moved the cartel’s money should be standing next to him.
I also want to raise something that is rarely said in these conversations. Why has no one inside Bank of America come forward the way I did? The answer is that everyone in American banking knows what happened to me, and to the whistleblowers who came after. The last person who spoke up is the only policy anyone believes. That is a culture problem, and it starts with leadership, in the banks and in the agencies that regulate them.
This is not a political issue. It has spanned administrations of both parties. It is a national security issue, and I am asking you to treat it as one.
Three things would change the math overnight.
Refer individuals for criminal prosecution. Not the analyst in the queue. The executives who set the thresholds and chose the risk. One banker in handcuffs would do more than every fine in Treasury’s history combined.
End “too big to jail.” An institution cannot be too big to fail and too big to jail at the same time. If it is the first, it must be held to a higher standard, not a lower one.
And if Bank of America will not act as America’s bank, review its charter. A national charter is a privilege granted on behalf of the American people. It should be conditioned on not moving money for the people trying to kill them.
Secretary Bessent, you said yesterday that these actions send a clear message that even the biggest institutions are not above the law. With respect, the institution was never the problem. The people inside it are above the law, and they know it. Until that changes, I will keep writing letters like this one, and the next bank will keep paying the next fine.
I gave up everything I had to stop this. I am asking you to use the power you have to finish it.
Respectfully,
Everett A. Stern

My jaw literally dropped listening to this
There is a Muslim pilot who works for United Airlines that regularly makes pro-terrorist organizations posts on his social media
The Muslims name is Ibrahim Mossallam. He works on the Board of CAIR New York, which is linked to the Muslim Brotherhood
He made an October 7, 2023 Facebook post calling the Hamas attacks “resistance by a brave people.” United suspended him with pay while investigating but the Pilots Union got him his job back and he went back to flying planes in America
Since then the pilot has been temporarily resuspended for flying because of his extreme religious beliefs and posts but he is 100% still employed. He is still getting paid on suspension
I looked into this guy and he is VERY involved in Muslim organizations
- CAIR-NY lists him as Board Vice-President and describes him as a professional international airline pilot who is “very active in shaping the Muslim youth community.”
- He has also been listed as a board member of American Muslims for Palestine (AMP-NY)
- He is listed as a council member of the Muslim American Society (MAS-NY)
- He’s a representative of the Islamic Leadership Council of New York (Majlis Ash-Shura)
- He pursued graduate studies in religious leadership at Boston Islamic Seminary
This is literally the last person on earth we want flying commercial planes full of people in America
By specialist request a follower asked if I would start a list of Shapiro’s fails for you to build on in the comments.
I’ll start with what I believe is the reason Shapiro was installed not elected.
As AG he had proven to his globalist masters that he would enforce draconian Covid mandates against the people.
Shapiro excelled at following orders and was rewarded for his fidelity.
Family businesses went under, our elders died alone in quarantine from their loved ones, our children were set back and isolated, many more people died alone in hospitals. Today, many more still suffer from the vaccines.
He will do it again if he remains in office.
Your turn…..
🇺🇸 SCOTT BESSENT JUST POSTED THIS:
Dear Senator Elizabeth Warren:
I have received your October 7 letter, which adds to the mounting body of evidence of your complete paucity of knowledge about financial markets. Rather than take my suggestion of studying introductory economics, you have continued your letter-writing crusade and participation in tabloid fodder about the Treasury Department.
Unfortunately, it is difficult to treat your concerns as sincere. As the federal funds rate climbed from near zero to its highest level in 22 years, with inflation hitting a 40-year high, you were a cheerleader for the Biden Administration’s reckless spending. You blamed the economic consequences on the Federal Reserve, rather than your own irresponsible fiscal policies. Your view of the economy depends on who occupies the White House, but your woeful understanding of the issues is consistent.
The “interventions” you describe as “unprecedented” have been underway since May 2024. The buyback program has been well received by market participants in bolstering Treasury liquidity, which reduces market volatility, increases the convenience yield of Treasury securities and ensures the best value for the taxpayer. The continued enhancements optimize Treasury market liquidity in primary and secondary markets. The U.S. Treasury market’s liquidity and performance versus global peers is evidence.
While you voted for a $5 trillion tax hike on everyday Americans, the Working Families Tax Cuts continue to deliver for families and workers across the country. The average refund this filing season was over $3,400, an increase of 11 percent over the previous year. More than 30 million workers claimed No Tax on Overtime, more than 7 million claimed No Tax on Tips, and more than 37 million seniors claimed their enhanced deduction. More than 34 million families claimed the permanently enhanced Child Tax Credit, and millions of families are utilizing Trump Accounts to unlock a new savings vehicle for children. All of which you voted against.
These results are made possible by the employees of the Department of the Treasury, who are working around the clock for the American people. Unsurprisingly, you have responded by criticizing their dedication and aptitude for the job in a recent interview.¹ Despite your malign characterization, the Domestic Finance team you alluded to in your interview is fully staffed relative to historical levels. It is ironic that you have voted against every presidential appointee for a position at Treasury, no matter how impressive the qualifications for the role. Given your newfound interest in Department personnel, I challenge you to reverse course and thoughtfully engage with future nominees and support their confirmation.
Finally, my offer of a Foreign Exchange for Dummies tutorial still stands and if you receive a passing grade on the Yale metric, not the Harvard curve, I would be happy to also include a Fixed Income for Dummies.
Sincerely,
Scott Bessent
Then he finished with a handwritten note ✍️
Happy Indigenous Peoples’ Day in advance to you and your family.

This is my last word in the Death Penalty, and then I’m giving it a rest…
First, I don’t have a problem with the pope or bishops preaching against it as a matter of pastoral teaching. It’s fine and I actually agree with them in principle. I just insist that when they do so they should acknowledge that the death penalty is not condemned doctrinally, and that Church teaching has not changed, just the pastoral application.
Second, Catholics who have conscientious objection to this pastoral application must be accommodated with a disclaimer that it is possible for a Catholic in good standing to object with good reason. Such conscientious objection does not make said Catholic a heretic or schismatic.
Third, when it comes to application of the death penalty, I personally think that attempts to clean it up, and make it into some kind of tidy medical procedure, are macabre. Executions are supposed to be violent and shocking. If you can’t stomach it, then maybe you shouldn’t watch. And if a society thinks it’s cruel, then maybe that society should ban it. Attempts to clean and tidy an execution into a medical procedure are just a pathetic attempt to make the death penalty more palatable to a squeamish society that doesn’t want it to begin with.
That’s all I have to say about this.
If you spent some time on any social media platform in the past 24 hours you certainly came across someone mocking this lady, they said she looked weird, reptalian and many other expletives.
At first I ignored them, but now I am suspecting this was a campaign to discredit what these two wonderful people did!
These two are Michael and Susan Dell, they are contributing billions of dollars to children's savings accounts in the USA.
Through a massive $6.25 billion philanthropic pledge, the couple is depositing $250 into the federally recognized "Trump Accounts" (long-term, tax-advantaged investment accounts) for roughly 25 million American children
They have four children of their own and could have easily given all that money to them instead.
I think they are wonderful people, they shared the fruit of their success, which came as a result of massive personal risk taking.
HOW MANY OTHER BILLIONAIRES DID SO MUCH CHARITY?
Speaking of Little Sisters of the Poor…
Gov. Josh Shapiro remains a party in ongoing litigation TO THIS VERY DAY that seeks to invalidate federal religious and moral exemptions from the Affordable Care Act’s contraceptive mandate.
Like a Rottweiler with a bone.
TEN YEARS OF TENACIOUS PERSECUTION…
In 2017, Shapiro (then Pennsylvania’s attorney general) and New Jersey sued the Feds over Trump-era rules expanding those exemptions.
🚨BREAKING: Scott Presler and his team at Early Vote Action just exposed something massive in Philadelphia.
They hand-transcribed thousands of names from the non-juror lists, people summoned for jury duty who were excused because they are not U.S. citizens.
When they cross-referenced those names against the actual Pennsylvania voter rolls, roughly one out of every four came back as active registered voters.
That’s not a small glitch.
We’re talking illegal alien voters on the rolls, including some who have committed serious crimes against women and children, murderers, and sex traffickers.
Scott turned the data over to the Department of Justice.
The DOJ is now threatening federal criminal prosecutions against Democrat state officials if they refuse to clean up the system.
This is the kind of work that actually forces action.
Philadelphia has already started purging tens of thousands of names in the wake of this pressure, and the gap to a Republican registration plurality in Pennsylvania has narrowed dramatically in just days.
Only American citizens should be voting in American elections.
Scott is doing the hard, unglamorous work of proving it, one non-juror list at a time.
This is what the Muslims in Philly are doing with kids at the MAS Islamic Center. Then we have Shapiro giving the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Philly (a Muslim mosque/school/center) a $5 million grant in March of 2025 (biggest grant in PA history). 🇸VOTE RED! 🇺🇸
10 years ago yesterday, Gilma Goodman was shot dead in her own home in Concord, NC.
She was 90 years old.
Two 17-year-olds came to rob an elderly woman.
Here's where they are now:
Isaiah Powell:
* Convicted of first-degree murder
* Life, with the possibility of parole
* 31 prison infractions so far
Anthony Cooper:
* Arrested for first-degree murder, convicted of second-degree
* Two months before the murder, he did a car break-in and larceny
* Picked up assault charges while awaiting trial
* All of it rolled into one judgment, no extra time
* 19 prison infractions
* Projected release: 2039, at age 40
Gilma doesn't get a release date.
Remember her name.
A New York jury just awarded $2 MILLION to a young woman who underwent a double mastectomy at 16 and later detransitioned.
The jury found her psychologist and surgeon liable for malpractice.
Her case alleged that serious mental-health issues, including depression, body dysmorphia, anorexia and autism-spectrum traits, were not adequately addressed before an irreversible procedure was performed on a minor.
Now watch what happens when someone like her speaks publicly.
For years we were told regret was exceedingly rare. We were told these procedures were necessary care. We were told questioning the process itself was dangerous.
But when a detransitioner stands up and says, “This happened to me,” suddenly she becomes the problem.
That is the epistemic tell.
When evidence supports the narrative, it is celebrated.
When evidence contradicts the narrative, the person carrying the evidence gets attacked.
A jury heard the testimony. A jury examined the evidence. A jury found malpractice. And a jury put the damages at $2 million.
You don’t protect vulnerable young people by demanding silence from the ones who came back and said, “I wish someone had slowed this down.”
You protect them by listening.

America is under attack from within, and this has nothing to do with where you were born, what you look like, or what party you used to belong to.
If you love this country, open your eyes.
They are using our own institutions, our own laws, and our own elections to put people in power who seem determined to tear down the values that made America great.
This isn’t happening overnight. It’s happening piece by piece, office by office, generation by generation.
President Trump is fighting like hell, but one man cannot carry an entire country on his back.
The question is whether the American people still have the courage to stand up, speak out, vote, organize, and peacefully refuse to surrender the country we inherited.
Because eventually every generation reaches a line.
I believe ours is getting very close.
