June 20 is Eritrean Martyrs Day, one of the most solemn days of the year. On this day, we remember that every single family in Eritrea has lost one or more members—brothers, sisters, fathers, mothers, daughters, uncles, aunts, sons, spouses, and friends—who died in action, either fighting for independence or defending against invasion. Modern Eritrea is founded and united by the common sacrifices made by its people. Who can separate those who die together? For those of us who remain, their willingness to protect the nation with their lives gives us a purpose we cannot abandon. We must make their vision true.
I didn’t know #Eritrea Ministry of Information has a parody account. The people who enforced disappearance or exiled ALL Eritrean private journalists, suspended the 1996 Press Law and closed the private press “temporarily” (they remain closed 22+ years later) and is responsible for Eritrea annually appearing dead last in every free press index of the world, is saying this:
Happy birthday Ciham Ali Abdu! 💜 I hope it’s a better birthday than the ones you had in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 in #PFDJ prisons after you were abducted as a 15 year old child in December 2012 by the sadistic #Eritrea|n government.
#FreeCiham and all political prisoners.
Eritrean refugees are protesting the events organized by the totalitarian regime and its adherents. These events are designed to strengthen the #Eritrean#dictatorship. In what way?
By raising funds and spreading the totalitarian regime's propaganda. (1/3) ⤵️
@Siem_MJ Unfortunately, it’s not up to the UNHCR, OPM, or RRS to report fraudulent cases. It’s the people’s responsibility to report and have their legal status revoked in the hosting countries.

The audacity! Celebrating Women's Day while ignoring the daily suffering of Eritrean women, whose rights are continuously violated and face unjust imprisonment without due process for decades. #FreeEritrea#FreeCiham
This is Eritrea under PFDJ.
They celebrate Fenkil while they've disappeared the one who led them the battle, Petros Solomon.
They celebrate Bahti Meskerem while refusing to give Hamid Idris Awate's family Eritrean citizenship/menenet.
Last weekend we held a two days long event in Bologna which collided with the Italian government’s meeting with dozens of African heads of state.
During the two days event, several hundreds of engaged people ranging from civil society organisations, academics , lawyers, researchers , journalists, refugees and committed common citizens gathered and discussed with us a world so possible for migrants and refugees, to recognise the human rights work of refugees and more precisely the 221 HRDs who were punished by the @UNHCRLibya and the Libyan authorities for their human rights work for themselves and others.
This happened contrary to what the politicians met in Rome on what is called “Italy-Africa bridge of common growth” a meeting that was held without refugees and civil society organisations from Africa and those already in Europe.
During those two days, we looked at the challenges faced by migrants and refugees in the North African region and after arrival to Europe.
We discussed legal possibilities to use the law to fight the bad law and held accountable the perpetrators.
