🚨 Real Madrid working on deal to sign Rodri from Manchester City. Clubs not yet in talks but #RMFC now operating on basis of midfielder joining this summer. #MCFC still hope #Spain captain stays with/without new contract. W/ @MarioCortegana@TheAthleticFC https://t.co/MVGhS094pU
@ZeeROGBA Well maybe like you said in a near future once technology and long term storage improve.
Technology readiness levels aren’t mature enough to meet demand.
@ZeeROGBA Efficient with or without intermittent issues plaguing it. Plus gas turbines have gotten a lot more efficient than it is being given credit for.
@ZeeROGBA Then there’s research of the long term effect of solar panels deposit in soils. All those metallic structures driven into large lands deposit metals into the soil long term and vastly reduce arable lands.
It’s a matter of perspective
@ZeeROGBA The energy storage part is the real kicker. Where are the sources of these denser, more capacity batteries going to be sourced? Are they “cleaner”? Then how do you handle disposal of these batteries? Are they better for the environment long term?
@ZeeROGBA Are they really more efficient ? If they have intermittent issues? Plus cheaper due to CfD incentives which fossil fuel doesn’t have. Fossil use won’t go as low because renewables can’t match upwith demand when push comes to shove. It is at best a filler or add-on
@ZeeROGBA Yeah I agree here. It has grown because of the shifting focus towards “cleaner energy” and it’s starting to surpass fossil fuel because of the “bad rep” it keeps getting.
Which is odd because the processes involved in fossil fuel extraction & processing has improved dramatically
