It was, so it’s great he set this regulation. It’s confusing but in short:

The 2018 federal farm bill legalized cannabis products containing less than 0.3% delta-9 THC by weight.

Edibles are heavily enough to include large amounts of THC while remaining under the weight threshold. Ex: a 10 gram gummy can contain up to 30mg of delta-9 THC before being over the 0.3% weight threshold.

Flower is legal under the farm bill bc the law limits delta-9 THC specifically. All delta-9 THC starts out as THCa in the flower. When you light it on fire the THCa converts to delta-9 THC.

Also important to note that Delta-9 THC is just the technical name for normal natural THC. Not to be confused with the synthetic and semi-synthetic derivatives and isomers.

It’s official…Dan Patrick’s “THC Ban” bill has been defeated! Hemp laws in Texas will remain unchanged for the foreseeable future, and we can continue making Chill Country products 😮‍💨

Delta-9 is not a “dangerous derivative” it’s the technical name for natural THC. Whoever wrote this is not qualified to have an opinion on THC.

This is clearly propaganda from one of the lobby groups (pharma or alcohol) pushing the ban.

There is about to be a massive amount of anti-marijuana propaganda from people with financial interests in synthetic pharmaceutical drugs.

Millions of people are finding relief from natural alternatives like cannabis and they cannot patent the plants.
