Today I celebrate my first month as Assistant Professor at @asrc_gc . I am not great at making announcements, but I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity and to @OliBClarke for his mentorship that helped me get here. The Vallese Lab is opening its doors! Be prepared 💥
Such an honor to present my latest research at the 4th NYC area Cryo-EM meeting! ✨ A great collaboration between @lawrenceshapiro🔬 and Andrew Tomlinson 🪰 at @ZuckermanBrain
Thanks to the organizers @RieNygaard and @OliBClarke for a fully immersive day in #cryoEM!
@AaronOwji Thanks! That is a possibility but I think the 1-RBD up is just very mobile as we see in 3DVA. Not sure why the preferred orientation though, we haven't seen it with other ligand-free SARS-CoV-2 spikes.
Check out our biorxiv preprint on the #cryoem#structure of SARS-CoV-2 #omicron spike! Our analysis reveals conformational changes by mutations, providing insights into omicron’s extraordinary (and scary) antibody resistance. #COVID19

Paper out @CellReports! We report the #CryoEM structure of a fascinating antibody that binds to a hydrophobic pocket in #SARSCoV2 spike NTD away from the NTD supersite. The structure explains tolerance to some variants of concern.

It's a real pleasure for #ManciaLab to be part of this superb international collaborative effort lead by @MoronisLab! Congratulations to all those involved!
1/9 Did you know that your brain has tons of #omega3 fatty acids like DHA in it but can’t make them?
Here @Nature is our #cryoEM structure of MFSD2A that transports DHA across the #BloodBrainBarrier to fuel your brain! 🐠➡️🧠 @pippomancia#ManciaLab https://t.co/crVDJtIKmd
