Reboot builds & powers coalitions for courageous, structural change. We support visionary partners around the world to fight for and win the future we deserve.
What can I say about 15 years of dreaming & struggling for structural justice? A lot, apparently.
Some reflections on being human in a world that simultaneously breaks & expands our hearts.
I hope they can be helpful to someone else finding their way 🤲🏼

After 13 incredible years, we are closing our doors.
Since 2010, we've worked to tackle structural injustice across 30+ countries & learned a lot about the processes of transformation. Now this chapter ends.
Thank you for imagining & building with us 💛

"Get in good trouble, necessary trouble, and help redeem the soul of America." - Congressman John Lewis.
Let’s get into good trouble. Demand your senators do whatever it takes to pass the #FreedomToVoteAct and the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act. #JLVRAA
"Citizens assemblies are a way to have deep conversations across difference about what matters.
What are our values? How do we care for one another? How do we heal from painful histories of oppression, and stand together to build a world that honors all our dignity & joy?"
For a preview of themes Panthea will cover, see this thread. It's sparked many useful convos + collabs for us. We'll be writing more on this soon, so let us know if there are specific questions on politics + practices of codesign you're curious about:

Co-creation is not gathering ideas from a bunch of people, then figuring out what you do with them later.
That’s a consultation. One that is at best poorly planned, and at worst highly insulting.
Since 2010, we've led codesign initiatives around the world while being reflective/critical of how efforts are run; we've shifted our practice significantly.
On Friday @PantheaLee will join 💯 allies to offer reflections on power dynamics, hypocrisies, possibilities in codesign.

We loved this discussion on how to build civic infrastructure for equitable change, how to address data's biases and blindspots, and how to ensure efficiency is not a distraction from true justice. #knightlive
LIVE: Knight’s @lcoral + @Thompson_KF talk w/ @PantheaLee of @theReboot & @christinekeung of @CityofSanJose about using data to drive local decision making for small-scale initiatives & major community projects. Watch here + tweet questions: #knightlive https://t.co/50iJ7h5vdq
"What would a grief and trauma aware technology narrative hold so that it’s not fueled by the white supremacist information ecosystem and architecture that this is all currently built on?" @beingbrina#rxt
We ❤️ libraries! And we're not the only ones.
Libraries are among our most trusted institutions. 73% of Americans see them as gathering places that promote community between diff groups.
Giddy about the potential they hold as infrastructure for civic imagination & mutual care.
What if we spent more time fostering compassion, for self + others, than we did attacking each other?
What if we understood "victory" as healing rifts, not defeating enemies?
Thrilled to kick off our collab with @LargerUsNetwork@NewCitizenProj. Love these points of departure.
In this @theReboot piece, Panthea Lee notes the incredible upsurge concerned citizens organizing online due to the lack of government response to #COVID19. We need to rebuild a compassionate social contract with open communication btwn gov and citizens. https://t.co/7aju4lUkvr
