Holy.. @gstafford13 is on🔥in Portland.

1:58.70, wins over a stacked field, and gets her 3rd (!) Olympic standard (also qualified for the 1,500 and 5,000).

She is now the fourth-fastest 800m runner in 🇨🇦 history.

That 8:22:00 3,000m steeplechase Olympic standard is elusive.

A pair of 🇨🇦 athletes, @JohnGay96 (8:23) and @queendesgagnez (8:24) knocking at the door at tonight’s Portland Track Festival.

So far, only Matt Hughes is qualified for Tokyo in the event.

Joshua Cheptegei attempted to break Daniel Komen's 3,000m WR of 7:20.67.

He was on pace at mile (3:55), then fell off. Closed in 65 to run 7:33.

Cheptegei has 5,000m and 10,000m WRs.

Conclusion: Komen's record pace (58.7 sec/lap) is TOUGH - maybe toughest in distance running.

Fifth-fastest 🇨🇦 ever over 10,000m.

Flanagan is still 21 sec off Olympic standard, but this result will help him climb World Athletics ranking.

So far, @Moh_Speed is the only 🇨🇦qualified for Tokyo in 10,000m.
