Only one chance in this lifetime…
Like watching sunset at the beach from the most foreign seat in the cosmos, I couldn’t resist a cell phone video of Earthset. You can hear the shutter on the Nikon as @Astro_Christina is hammering away on 3-shot brackets and capturing those exceptional Earthset photos through the 400mm lens. @AstroVicGlover was in window 3 watching with @Astro_Jeremy next to him.
I could barely see the Moon through the docking hatch window but the iPhone was the perfect size to catch the view…this is uncropped, uncut with 8x zoom which is quite comparable to the view of the human eye. Enjoy.
🚀 Launch Alert | We're targeting New Glenn's third launch no earlier than Sunday, April 19, 2026, from LC-36. The two-hour launch window opens at 6:45 a.m. / 10:45 UTC. NG-3 will send @AST_SpaceMobile's BlueBird 7 satellite to low Earth orbit. Learn more: https://t.co/VbJEptXWG7
Our crew on the @Space_Station caught a glimpse of the @NASAArtemis II crew as they re-entered the atmosphere from their journey to the Moon! We first saw a bright light and a trail as the service module burned up. We didn’t see the Orion capsule itself as it re-entered, but we saw the wispy trail it left behind in the upper atmosphere. Overjoyed that our friends are safely back on Earth after their awe-inspiring mission!
Orion’s crew and service module have separated. The crew module continues on its path towards Earth while the service module will harmlessly burn up in Earth’s atmosphere over the Pacific Ocean. The Artemis II return trajectory is designed to ensure any remaining debris does not pose a hazard to land, people, or shipping lanes.
Selfie time!!! My crew snapped this photo of me and my bestie @Astro_Christina using one of the solar array wing cameras on our Orion spacecraft!
When we're not taking selfies, we take pictures of the Moon and Earth and record what we see for scientists back home. -Rise
“On the Moon is a photo of my family. I pray it reminds you that we and America and all of the world are cheering you on.”
Apollo 16 astronaut Charlie Duke recorded a message for the Artemis II crew. Fitting that they hear his words as they close in on their lunar destination.
We’re halfway there.
At the time of posting this, the Artemis II mission is about halfway to the Moon. When the astronauts arrive, they will conduct a lunar flyby and collect scientific observations of the Moon’s surface.
Mission ‘Onward and Upward’ scrubbed
The launch of our qualification flight has been aborted during autosequence. After a hold in countdown due to a range violation of the danger area by an unauthorized boat, the countdown reset exceeded our launch window.
Isar Aerospace is working to determine a new launch window together with Andøya Space. Further updates will follow as soon as possible.
@Tesla That´s a sad day 😐. The Model S should continue serving as Tesla's flagship and technological demonstration of its autonomous vision. That is my sincere opinion.
