Kenya & Afreximbank: Advancing Africa’s Financial Integration 🇰
Prof. Benedict Oramah and a high-level Afreximbank delegation met with H.E. William Ruto @WilliamsRuto of Kenya @StateHouseKenya during his state visit to Cairo, Egypt, to strengthen financial cooperation and advance Africa’s economic integration. The discussions highlighted the critical role of African financial institutions in driving sustainable investments, especially in times of economic uncertainty.
President Ruto reaffirmed the need for greater collaboration among African nations to amplify the continent’s voice in global finance. He emphasized his commitment to AfCFTA by empowering sub-sovereign governments to boost regional trade and resilience—aligning with Afreximbank’s mission to expand intra-African trade, industrialization, and financial innovation.

Boosting Supply Chain Finance for Developing Economies
At the 2024 World Bank Group Annual Meetings, Afreximbank's President, Prof Benedict Oramah and other leaders from Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs) convened to address the critical need for supply chain finance (SCF) expansion in developing economies, especially for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs).
Although SCF is a fast-growing trade finance segment, many SMEs in these regions, especially in Africa, face barriers like weak legal frameworks, high costs, and limited access to local banks.
With renewed commitment from MDBs, governments, and financial institutions, this collaboration aims to enhance SCF access and promote trade, financial inclusion, and economic growth for SMEs across emerging markets, including Africa.

Trying to be sure we read the same FT interview because how was Elumelu wailing?
You people were not in Nigeria 2-3 years ago when he was giving interviews every two weeks and writing twitter threads on oil thieves?
The thievery has reduced and he has moved on
@DailyPostNGR Lol. Anyone who actually read that FT interview can see that this agenda being pushed on Twitter is absurd. We have a reading and understanding problem in Nigeria.
